An artistic collaboration between musicians Anni Hogan, Robert Strachan and Itchy Ear, film maker Bob Wass and mountaineer Cathy O'Dowd. Hogan and Itchy Ear originally worked on a series of piano pieces inspired by Rene Daumal's 'Mount Analogue' and the superior wisdom of mountains, using O'Dowds Himalayan conquests for particular authentic inspiration. Robert and Anni used these pieces and the Himalayan peaks as a template for painting a soundwave soundscape around the piano compositions. O'Dowd performed a fascinating monologue over the piece 'Deathzone'. The 'Mountain' film was created by Bob Wass from Cathy's original film footage of her Everest expeditions.

Recorded live during a short Russian tour in September 2009, these recordings are unique since the lineup was made of Russian artists and only Roger himself was a part of the common European live incarnation of BDN. The persons behind Anthesteria and LamiaVox joined him in Moscow, while the guys from Bardoseneticube and 414 were together with him on stage in St. Petersburg. The basic parts of the tracks were sent to them all in advance, so they prepared their own vision of this material, thus it was a pure conceived and well-organized collaboration. Both shows were recorded on multi-channel devices, then carefully mixed and mastered, so the final quality is close to the studio sound without losing any of the raw energy of live performance. The result is a very fresh and unexpected look on the well-known BDN compositions such as 'Innerwar', 'Pay Day' and 'Testing' which should be interesting not only for devoted followers of the project but for the wider audience of power electronics / death industrial fans. A generous sample of this project's electronic and semi-industrial music from 1988-1996, using only electric guitars and effects to create these droney ambientscapes, although voice work does surface from time to time. In 2005 Massimo Magrini was invited to provide a soundtrack for the M3M art exhibition in Pisa, Italy. The exhibition was based around images of the seaside and river estuary of Pisana area with CMASA airplane factory built there in it's centre. The marvelous seaside scenery mixed with vintage industrial locations, created an unexpected but amazing, nostalgic mood. To sculpture a soundtrack of this scenery Magrini also added treated piano, snippets of acoustic guitars, water sounds and metal samples. This may sound unusual for a BAD SECTOR release but all those new elements are perfectly blended into massive and ambient soundwaves, making CMASA probably the most emotional album of Massimo Magrini to date.
