LNGTCHE - 'Music For An Untitled Film By T. Zarkkof' CD (Etude Records)
The debut album from this project is an obscure piece for the widely unknown Russian auteur T. Zärkkof. A 44:22 minute long soundtrack of dark isolation, drones and exploration of ambient music, blending electronic soundscapes with the sound of raw guitar. A beautiful, haunting and darkly complex work packaged in an exclusive triptych panel with brilliant artwork by SELDON HUNT (also known for his artwork for Sunn O))), Earth, Troum, Neurosis, Z'EV etc).
THE ALTAI CHAMBER ORCHESTRA - `T.A.C.O.` Picture Disc LP (Steinklang)
Strange mix of one long track, `Law`, on Side A, featuring bass guitar, guitars and Italian spoken vocals. Would appeal to maybe leftfield guitar experimental fans, or a little like some MAIN or TROUM. Nice picture disc. Side B is a different animal, po-faced drum patterns, often very similar to PANORAMA or BAPTISM-era LAIBACH. Ltd x 500 numbered copies with clear sleeve.
TRAVIS RYAN / DEATH BY A THOUSAND CUTS - 'Split' CD (Chrome Peeler)
Split release from two US acts: Travis Ryan (Cattle Decapitation, 5/5/2000) and Death By A Thousand Cuts. Travis Ryan's four tracks open the disc with an edgy, paranoid ambience that mixes environmental buzzes and electronic hum with blurry theremin melodies and hushed buzzsaw tones, evoking the faint but discernible hum of electricity you feel when standing at the edge of an urban landscape in the middle of the night. Death By A Thousand Cut's nightmarish free electronic designs are conjured from noxious bass sinewaves and cloudy keyboard drones, curling upwards out of metal-on-metal carnage and blasts of laser-beam effects-pedal violence, and the music becomes strangely beautiful, especially with the cosmic Troum-meets-Bastard Noise insectoid frequencies of final track "Approach Of The Black Claw". Ltd x 300 copies in cut & paste artwork (similar to RRRecords' Pure Series).

TROUM - 'AIWS' CD (Transgredient)
The first full-length CD release from Troum since 2003, covering studio recordings composed from 2002-2005. Here they present some of their favourite pieces through the years. Nine compositions that lead the listener through vast feelings of beautifully deep melancholic and hypnotic states of mind. Composed with guitar drones and harmonic phrases, processed in various ways, creating an atmosphere of the sublime and emotional meditative states that transcend the listener to immerse within themselves. One of the most emotional and profound Troum releases to date.

TROUM - 'Darve Sh / Ajin' CD (Nefryt)
Reissue of two rare vinyls, presented on one CD. This is the ritual face of Troum! "Darvê Sh" was released in 2003 as a 10” vinyl on Beta-Lactam Ring Records, as part 10 in the "Lactamase" series. Darvê Sh is the etymological Persian source for "Dervish", meaning "doorway" (a metaphor for being between this world and the netherworld). "Ajin" was released in 2005 as a picture disc 12” vinyl on Equation Records. Ajin is Hebrew for "eye", but also means "colour" or "source" and is the 16th letter of the Hebrew alphabet. The right eye looks into the sky for transcendence, the left eye looks to the ground to the word of god (one that dances and the other that speaks) - a balance of contradictions. A5 gatefold package.

TROUM - 'Objectlessness' CD (Faria Records)
CD reissue of Troum's rare 2005 album (Ltd x 100, Mystery Sea). "Objectlessness" explores the gap between rational, verbal language and the pre-symbolic language of our emotional and unconscious mind. Music is perceived partly with our conscious mind and partly by our primal consciousness that lies under the rational mind. Experimental music, especially that of a more droning character, can be unconsciously connected with this primal state of mind. It is music that is linked with unconscious fantasies coming from a pre-verbal sphere of existence... the phase of life based on the dyadic interaction with the primal object: the mother. Spheric, droning, dissolving music is pointing unconsciously at this "objectless" sphere of existence. This release is dedicated to the idea of an especially formed "pre-symbolic" music. Ltd x 750 copies in an outsized package with inserts. Russian import.
A collection of very rare material, from the very beginning of TROUM (1997 - 1999). The concept of the 'Dream' is the common thread running through TROUM (and indeed Troum is the German word for 'Dream'); the name, the music and the philosophy. In 'Symballein' dreams are obscure and indecipherable - in one word nightmares. The music is archaic and droney, with multi-layered guitar drones. Oneiric ambient industrial near to Maeror Tri's best releases. Packaged in an elegant, textured digisleeve.

VA - 'Idioscapes' CD (Idiosyncratics Records)
The only concept given to each artist taking part in this compilation was that they had to provide a specific / particular / idiosyncratic piece. Qualified as a “drone paradise” by Lasse Marhaug (Jazkamer), the result is a fine and coherent whole, full of extended textures, contrasted acoustic surfaces, subtle and strong. 70 minutes of authentic acoustic researches, with glitches, loops, noises, deep and glittering textures, subliminal frequencies and narrative inserts, punctured with sensible musical moments from: Charlemagne Palestine, Critikal, Daniel Menche, Eve And The Sickness, Idiosyncrasia, Janek Schaefer, Jazkamer, Keith Fullerton Whitman, KK Null, Rapoon, Sébastien Roux, Steffen Bashô-Junghans and Troum. VA - 'Walking In The Rain On The Ostrow Tumski' CD (Ars Benevola Mater)
From the thin dark and grey ambient shades of Herbst 9 to the esoteric hypnotism of Allerseelen, through the shrouding electronic soundscapes of Job Karma and the delicate Neofolk melodies of Sol Invictus - this is a journey through ambient atmospheres, industrial movements and a comforting melancholy moistened by little raindrops. With: Allerseelen, Hati Vs. Z'EV, Herbst9, Job Karma, Lagowski, Leiche Rustikal, Oxyd, Sol Invictus, Tabor Radosti and Troum. Ltd x 1035 copies in an outsized textured sleeve with artcard.
WE WAIT FOR SNOW - 'Lullabies From Our Dreams' CD (Final Muzik)
Debut album from We Wait For The Snow - a project of Andrea Penso (Selaxon Lutberg) and Simone Zuccolin. The sound is deliberately lo-fi and is created exclusively with economical instruments: acoustic and electric guitars, cheap keyboards, accordion, farfisa, flute and various non-musical objects. The aim is to create a confidential atmosphere through the balance between "dream" and "sadness". There is a sense of precarious balance in the songs, that alternates moments of pure improvisation with much more studied and controlled tracks. The songs are about dreams, lullabies and tales from the forest. For fans of raw, occult and lo-fi recordings, drone music, psych-folk, field recordings, concrete noise and acoustic melodies. "Troum meets Espers". Ltd x 600 copies in a beautiful digisleeve.
