The final track is probably the most musical, as it is centred on a guitar arpeggio, but no such concessions to convention are present elsewhere on this deeply troubling disk. In order to try to capture this feeling I wanted the music to leave a spectral, ghostly impression, and to have an organic decaying quality, like something trying to break through from another world. To this end my musical sources were mainly 78 rpm records, a vibraphone and an upright piano. 'World Transmission 3' was recorded over a period of two days in 1994 at a church in Etzin, Germany. All instruments were played live and recorded with two microphones. The position of these mics made it possible to document not only the overall sound, but also movements within the room. A third mic was connected to effects and a record player, amp, and speakers. The results is a series of echoed, tonal vibrations and drones, with rising dynamics, and shuffling whispered sounds. All instruments used were objects or tools carrying a religious, mystical, or spiritual meaning. 45 minutes of music.

This track, recorded live in Oakland in 2008, represents the more gentle side of Heavy Winged in some ways and is largely soothing. The second side harbors 'Morning Flesh'; 18 minutes that veer towards the caveman Krautrock of the recent "Alive In My Mouth" LP, drums pounding, Neanderthal guitar chugging, though with a melodic haze drifting across the musical landscape like a lysergic mistral, leading the listener ever further into the shifting sands of the forbidden zone.. JENNIFER GENTLE - 'Live In The House Of God' LP (A Silent Place)
Recorded in an empty, deconsecrated church in summer 2003, this LP is another instalment in an on-going series of records documenting the weird life of Jennifer Gentle in the foggy plains of Northern Italy. Basically the sound of JG's mainman Marco Fasolo going wild with an old, battered electronic piano and a bunch of sound effects, "Live at the House of God" is a side-long improvisation sharing the same spirit of those 20-minutes keyboard freak-outs Sun Ra used to record in the late 60s. Alternatively spacey and noisy, the piece is a dark, often unnerving exploration in sound, shimmering all the way through with a distinct Krautrock / early Cluster vibe. The new owners of the church were horrified and outraged by the sheer loudness of the performance, but God liked it a lot. Single-sided white vinyl in a deluxe spot-varnished sleeve with insert. Coleclough and Liles met in October 2004 when they both performed at Intergration 3 in Preston, UK. Liles subsequently reworked the recording of Coleclough's solo performance from that evening. He went on to add, subtract, multiply and divide further live recordings supplied by Coleclough, and the eventual result was this double LP. 'Torch Songs' is packaged in a heavy gatefold sleeve featuring 'I Dreamt I was a River', a poem composed and painted by Geoff Sawers during a performance with Coleclough in Geneva in March 2005. "Malefeasance" is a lengthy and complex affair that further explores L'Acephale's fascinations and strikes headlong into the darkest of musical vistas. The journey this time is perhaps even more academic than the debut "Mord Und Totsclag": further ethnographic audio elements are now present, more spacious passages, a deeper approach. A mix of ambient, warping tones, black metal, chanting, ethereal keyboards, drones, acoustic guitars, noise, field recordings and Tibetan ritual music. The last two tracks best show the nature of Set Sothis' collaborations with Markus Wolff (Waldteufel, Crash Worship), sharing some of his vocal and percussive styles. By no means do L'Acephale make music for the casual listener. In many ways they transcend the preconceived ideas of what may be expected: L'Acephale are most successful at operating beyond the constraints of genre altogether, and 'Malefeasance', with its dark, dreamlike and harrowing atmospheres, is their testament. Luperci is a drone based noise project from Albuquerque, New Mexico. 'The Holy Mountain' is an epic and introspective piece that oscillates between quiet, hypnotic drone and trance inducing, crushing wall of sound. 'The Holy Mountain' is about the human drive towards enlightenment and is largely influenced by the path of the Aghori Sadhus - a sect of Hindu ascetics who believe everything is sacred and nothing is profane. As part of their spiritual journey, they live alone in cremation grounds, carry a begging bowl made from a human skull, and wear cremation ashes.The extreme nature of their practice and their intense desire for the union with the divine was a major point of inspiration for the album. The Panicsville side has three pieces that were originally released as a cassette, and an unreleased piece... this material already forecasts his interest in musique concrete and analogue synths and these four pieces are quite nice experimental music pieces" (Vital Weekly). Martin Luiten and Frans de Waard are both from Nijmegen and both part of the same musical 'scene'. They played together in 2003 when their bands Girlfriends and Beequeen played a collaborative concert, and the two met on the Sunday afternoon improvisation concerts. Yet its not been until this year that they decided to work together, Martin on guitar and electronics and Frans picking the sound up with his laptop. Praxinoscope is a project which unites the duo Roberto Opalio (one-half of My Cat Is An Alien) and Ramona Ponzini. The material comes from a whole session recorded in a mysterious location of the Western Alps, directly transferred to CD using neither overdubs nor outtakes. A tasteful combination of improvised thrash noise / metal by Pymathon (Topias Tiheäsalo and Jaakko Tolvi - the former known for his collaboration with RLW and solo CD, the latter for banging drums in Rauhan Orkesteri) and harsh noise-driven free jazz (not dissimilar to Merzbow in places) by Gentle Evil (Janne Tuomi and Tommi Keränen - the former known for a solo CD and percussion for Circle, the latter for being the other half of Testicle Hazard). Three tracks from Pymathon and a single, long track from Gentle Evil. "Both kick ass, crush skulls and are loud enough to demolish buildings". A miasma of guitar feedback, junk percussion and a near endless torrent of abstract epithets. Vinyl compilation devoted to “Luigi Russolo” the father of Futurist music and the first man theorizing that music has to be composed mainly by rumors and not by harmonic sounds. His music was played with a self made instrument named "Intonarumori” or “Rumorarmonio”. For this project, OEC invited four artists known for being very close to "Futurism" since their beginnings and for their true and uncompromising “Industrial” involvement: GX Jupitter-Larsen, Merzbow, Rapoon and Sacher Pelz (Maurizio Bianchi).
