'World Transmission 3' was recorded over a period of two days in 1994 at a church in Etzin, Germany. All instruments were played live and recorded with two microphones. The position of these mics made it possible to document not only the overall sound, but also movements within the room. A third mic was connected to effects and a record player, amp, and speakers. The results is a series of echoed, tonal vibrations and drones, with rising dynamics, and shuffling whispered sounds. All instruments used were objects or tools carrying a religious, mystical, or spiritual meaning. 45 minutes of music.

FIN DE SIECLE - 'Nine Barns' LP (OPN)
Fourth full-length album from this French dark ambient / neoclassical / post-rock act. 'Nine Barns' marks the transition between 'Sans Titre' and 'Patagonie', with the greater participation of Florence Cailleux (violin, vocals) and the use of organic instruments such as guitar. The LP contains a slightly different track listing than the CD version. Ltd x 300 copies only!
Flatlands (with 2 tracks) are seriously heavy in a stripped-down Isis style, with monolithic, catchy riffs crashing into each other and plenty of screaming. Sunshine Republic (with 1 long track) are on a more experimental tip, reminiscent of House Of Low Culture, though there are elements of doom, post-rock and noise in the mix too. The LP is limited to 330 copies and is presented on heavy grey vinyl and comes with acetate inserts. Offensive and difficult in equal measure.
Final release from this legendary Canadian Act, now recording under the banner of Sistrenatus (whose debut album was released by Cold Spring in 2006 CSR61CD). An archival collection of unreleased demos and live material. The A-Side features material from a live performance in 1999, while the B-Side is unreleased and demo material from 1999-2001.
