  Aube / 7inch AUBE - 'Blau & Rot' 7" (Auf Abwegen)

On "Blau + Rot", released for the first European tour by AUBE in eight years, Akifumi Nakajima worked with an old Roland SH-12 percussive synth. The result is two long tracks (each over 6 minutes) with a nice floating mood that sometimes changes into aggressiveness, without losing its warmth. A great little record by one of the most important experimental musicians from Japan. Clear vinyl. Regular edition of 400 copies.

Carsten Vollmer / 7inch CARSTEN VOLLMER - 'Arbeit Nummer 7' 7" (Cat Killer)

Released on Vollmer’s own label, this is a release with very little information and minimal artwork. Total relentless lo-fi noise over two tracks. Incomprehensible, dense and murderous screeching amongst thick layers of electronics and violence make this quite a difficult and claustrophobic release! A small note: both sides have the same track name, but are in fact different.

Two tracks of dense, organic, electrical noise from Scott Konzelmann, appropriately titled 'In' and 'Out'. One side plays outside to inside with no end groove so it ends up in the middle the other side plays from the inside to the outside and the needle falls off the record (many of you will have to trick your turntable into playing this side). Sealed in riveted tar paper sleeve including tin daguerreotype of one of the speaker constructions used on this recording. Limited to 450 copies. Rare piece!

Cloama / 7inch CLOAMA - 'In The State Of Unbelief' 7" (Cipher Productions)

Two new pieces from Cloama at its most vehement. A savage exposition of raw power electronics, which has never been quite so overt in Cloama’s sound until this project. Notwithstanding the clear ‘80s PE influences, the production and composition are distinct, discreet layers, with the usual attention to detail giving this work flair. Regular edition, limited to just 130 copies. Presented in a foldout, screen-printed sleeve with inner flap. Australian import. ACT FAST!

Club Moral / 7inch CLUB MORAL - 'Lonely Weekends' 7" (Dead Mind Records)

Founding Club Moral members DDV & AMVK are true industrial noise pioneers. Side A of these rare recordings documents the song 'Lonely Weekends', recorded at their first ever live performance at Künstlerhaus, Stuttgart (Germany) in 1981. For this occasion DDV and AMVK were joined by the obscure act Etat Brut. In 2002 Dylan joined forces on turntables and in 2003 they added Mauro Pawlowski on guitar. Together with DDV and AMVK they recorded 'Gun', side B of this record, at the Club Moral studios. Mauro exclusively remixed this provocative, perverted, sexual war inducing song for this record. This experi-noise project from Sacramento, CA, has released some of the most exciting experimental music in the last few years, which is documented on some CDs, Vinyls and tapes. Crawl Unithas shown many different sides to his sound so far, and this EP is no exception: metallic, high frequent reverberated sounds and low, droning backgrounds, accompanied by some harsh outbursts of noise. After a few amazing cassettes, this is the very first vinyl issue for German act Dronæment, containing two flowing tracks based on water sounds, entitled "Wassermond" and "Wassertank". Sounds go up and down like waves, pulsate soft and tender, surround you like cotton wool, being added up by sensitively created electronics.   Dual / 7inch DUAL - 'Klanik' 7" (Drone Records)

The music of UK act Dual is a mixture of mighty guitar drones with massive sub bass undertones and slight rhythmic structures that evoke feelings of total transcendence and grandeur. Cascades of tuneful layered guitars speak a special language of their own. Concrete elements (rumbling and squealing) and unpleasent feedback arise, added by strange backwards sounds, creating a rather eerie and challenging feell. This is highly demanding incremental experimental guitar music with a very individual style! Second edition of 300 copies on white vinyl with hand-coloured sleeve and an insert.

The Polish duo HATI is a very active live group, using an array of archaic and ethnic instruments such as gongs, cymbals, north-African drums and clarinets, wooden trumpets, horns and flutes. What’s more, their music also includes found objects of scrap metal, plastic or wood. Their first release on vinyl presents two pieces of multi-layered gong drones, nicely processed for full trance effect and enriched with whistling and rattling sounds and delayed percussion. Hélice Pied (previously recording under the name NIXILX.NIJILX) is a newcomer from Athens, Greece. "Conduit No. 2" is a perfect example of sensibly spun experimental drone, floating waves with metallic tinkling-sounds slowly approaching and disappearing again, soft white noise-swooshes circulating widely around an invisible center... sound-sources are hardly recognizable (coming from concrete sounds of churchbells and e-guitar), the atmosphere rising is one of quietness & meditation, able to transcend your mind. All words & symbols Héilice uses have a strong structural and inter-related meaning. First edition of 300 copies on white vinyl with hand-painted, hand-numbered covers and an inlay.

Illusion Of Safety / Thomas Köner / 7inch ILLUSION OF SAFETY & THOMAS KONER - 'Untitled' 7" (Die Stadt)

Great split release from Chicago's stalwart post-Industrial ensemble Illusion Of Safety and Germany's dronecore specialist Thomas Köner. Illusion Of Safety takes a confrontationist approach by opening their condensed program with a jarring clatter of fragmented film-noir orchestrations that are roughly broken into a nervous drone. Köner's approach is far more subtle, gently pushing forward a sublime drone and allowing it to fade into silence.   Licht-Ung / 7inch LICHT-UNG - 'Kristall' 7" (Drone Records)

LICHT-UNG ("glade") is the name of a label, art and sound project from Gemany, with a very peculiar and rather dadaistic approach. The two pieces on "Kristall" seem to be based mainly on feedback and metal or glass sounds that are carefully put together for a strange-sounding trip. Side A consists of humming, growling drones, low siren-like sounds and high-frequency feedbacks, powerful and absorbing and very abstract, while never turning into sheer noise. Side B delivers a crystal-clear noise chant and metallic overtones processed with obscure effects.   Moljebka Pulse / 7inch MOLJEBKA PVLSE - 'Lode Lvx' 7" (Drone Records)

For some years now Stockholm based artist Mathias Josefson has delighted the drone scene with his highly minimal excursions into drone territory. From harsh noise to soft and gentle ambience, the aim is to reach a basic level of sound conscience. In doing so the "human mind" and the "sound mind" interact to build a symbiotic entity. "Lode" and "Lvx" are great examples of breathing drone structures which seem to be derived from real string or wind instruments. Harmonic and mysterious, dense and aspiring... this is indeed music like a lode of illumination. First edition of 300 copies on black vinyl with silk-screened, embossed covers and an inlay.

The man behind Murmer is the US field recording specialist Patrick McGinley, who is also responsible for the 'Framework' radio programme on London’s Resonance 104.4FM. The two pieces on this "Drone" captivate the listener with intelligently assembled and multi-layered recordings of a garden in London (i.e. tree bark, water, footsteps, a creaking gate), processer and ventilation sounds of an old computer, and beads of a broken necklace. All sounds were left un-processed. Combined, they take you on a trip into an other world of low drones and high-pitched noises, crunching and gritting microsounds, surprising cut-ups, all very near and clear.
