During the period in which Clay Ruby first began working on this piece of art, he had become so completely surrounded by evil and deception that he was forced to begin summoning a particularly extreme and ancient force of protection and vitality just to make it alive through the end of 2008. Aside from spiritually fortifying Ruby's life, the complexities of these new elemental entities brought with them circumstances causing a much more rich and intense recording experience than he could have ever composed on his own. Clay Ruby has vehemently refused to offer any commentary on the biographical, conceptual or musical details about this album; stating only that "By the time you sell your last copy of this record, I will surely be dead." 'Autumndrones' is a name which belongs to two musicians from Siberia - Becoming and Freeall. 'Autumndrones' - can be explained as a love of autumn. They did not want to dedicate the music to this season, they wanted to write it. Therefore they music was written during the fall only, and when the first autumn passed they left the unfinished material until the next one. That is why the work took them 3 years. The whole mood of the album went through this season, even live instruments, such as violin and accordion, were recorded in fields along with the leaves' noise. The sound of nature and the human together. Mild ambient, careful noise and accidental melodies, the mix of leaves rustling, wind blowing and analogue synths singing. One of the most interesting and promising albums this year. Ritual sounds and a mystical atmosphere, which infected those present on their Torun gigs, were captured and transferred perfectly on 'Heart Of A Wolf'. This is the second collaborative album by the industrial legend Z'EV and Hati, the Polish duo from Torun, but it's the first one showing their interaction on stage during their 3rd Polish tour in May 2011. The tour itself was the continuation and development of their new sound project initiated by the joint gig on Unsound Festival in New York Labs in April 2011. This double set also includes the recording of their Gdansk gig and is limited to 423 copies in a stunning 6-panel digipak.

C.M. VON HAUSSWOLFF - 'Perhaps / Arrive'

This 2CD set includes some of the most unusual sounds you will have heard from Carl Michael von Hausswolff. He was chosen by the 1997 Istanbul Biennal to create a sound installation for Atatürk Airport. His classic sound (low frequency rumblings, monotonous oscillations and hissy non-narrative sequences) was deemed too confusing for the commutors. It was feared that his sound installation might be mistaken for an alarm and could cause serious panic at the airport. Hence the original soundtrack for “Perhaps/ /Arrive” was rejected. This music can now be heard for the first time on disc 1. Von Hausswolff’s response to the artistic restrictions was to produce the four tracks you hear on the second disc. These only make use of the very basic pre-set sounds included in the Yamaha QY22 and show a new side to the von Hausswolff sound. Very simple, post-nuclear lounge music. These four tracks were used in the context of the Biennal exhibition. Ltd x 500 copies in a digipak, with artwork by Akifumi Nakajima (Aube). |

"Black Wing Over The Sand" is one long session, that from the very first beginning lays bare the roots of Wolf Eyes: here is an evident presence of the industrial music of the early 1980s with bands such as Throbbing Gristle, Maurizio Bianchi and Gary Mundy’s cassette label Broken Flag. Instead of the harsh dissonances and compact walls of noise Wolf Eyes are well known for, the wholly instrumental piece moves slowly forward over a basis of silence. With oscillating movements, Wolf Eyes conjure up short bursts of noise with screaming high pitched tones where a rhythmic deep and slow bass soon sets in. Electric guitar, echo effects and sweeping sounds creates powerfully nerved effects over the slow rhythm. Ltd x 2000 copies. |
