Exxasens EXXASENS - 'Polaris' CD (The Miskatonic Soundlab)

Reissue of the long sold out debut release of this Spanish post-rock act, originally released on ConSouling Sounds (2008). As the sun is scorching Europe with its relentless rays, Jordi Ruiz’ spaceship is entering the frozen eternity of the cosmos, penetrating the boundless blackness of stretched-out matter and galactic debris. Emotional and emphatic riffing meets elegantly energetic drumming, elevated by poignant melodies, between the dreamily hymnal and the disarmingly plaintive. Hand-numbered and presented in a digipak.

Hati HATI - 'Die Mechanik, Die!' CD (Beast Of Prey)

The characteristic trance-gong-drone-music in the release "Die Mechanik, Die!" has been saturated with electronic sounds. The album was recorded during the Hati performance at "the Mechanik" club in Gdansk. This time Hati, famous for acoustic sounds, made propably the darkest CD in its discography, enriched with dark ambient tones. Heavy backgrounds are perfectly harmonised with trance and mechanical instrumental variations. From one side - harmonic and perfectly interrelated pieces of music. From the other side - an increasing and intensifying atmosphere of the darkness which, like a rust, conquers more and more parts of urban areas. The title of this release speaks for itself! Digipak. Polish import.

Hati HATI - 'Ka' CD (Eter)

Latest release by the great "trance-gong-drone" project from Torun, Poland - a result of many experiences and evolving artistic landscapes. The album was recorded traditionally - live in a natural acoustic environment, using acoustic instruments and connecting remote industrial echoes with elements of free improvisation and influences of drone / minimal music. Hati's music is mined from the depths of the mysterious and completely instrumental, knowingly using sound as a tool of communication. Presented in a cruciform card envelope with black on silver artwork. Highly recommended!

Hati / 7inch HATI - 'Recycled Magick Drones' 7" (Drone Records)

The Polish duo HATI is a very active live group, using an array of archaic and ethnic instruments such as gongs, cymbals, north-African drums and clarinets, wooden trumpets, horns and flutes. What’s more, their music also includes found objects of scrap metal, plastic or wood. Their first release on vinyl presents two pieces of multi-layered gong drones, nicely processed for full trance effect and enriched with whistling and rattling sounds and delayed percussion. Above all these sounds, there’s a mighty overtune buzz with heavenly droning contemplation wafts. First edition of 300 copies on red vinyl with silk-screened covers and an inlay.

Scorpion Wind / Boyd Rice / DIJ / VinylLP SCORPION WIND - 'Heaven Sent' 2 x LP (Twilight Command)

"Heaven Sent" has long been considered the "lost" classic collaboration between Death In June's Neofolk pioneer Douglas P. and Industrial Music's renegade innovator Boyd Rice. Recorded in Australia prior to the pair starring in the cult film "Pearls Before Swine", it is a unique, melodic and richly orchestrated ode to modern living, modern loving and modern hating. Joined by percussionist John Murphy (ex-SPK, The Associates, Current 93) for the first of what was to prove many collaborations between the "unregistered 3" and young Australian group Strength Through Joy (now Ostara), these recordings proved to be the perfect follow up to 1990's ground-breaking Boyd Rice & Friends album "Music, Martinis & Misanthopy". Limited edition pressed on brown vinyl. Comes with one-sided 12" sized info-sheet.

COVERS ARE BENT / HAVE RING DAMAGE FROM POOR STORAGE, BUT VINYL AND INSERTS ABSOLUTELY MINT!

  ZEV / Hati Z'EV & HATI - 'Heart Of A Wolf' 2 x CD (Zoharum)

One of the most interesting and promising albums this year. Ritual sounds and a mystical atmosphere, which infected those present on their Torun gigs, were captured and transferred perfectly on 'Heart Of A Wolf'. This is the second collaborative album by the industrial legend Z'EV and Hati, the Polish duo from Torun, but it's the first one showing their interaction on stage during their 3rd Polish tour in May 2011. The tour itself was the continuation and development of their new sound project initiated by the joint gig on Unsound Festival in New York Labs in April 2011. This double set also includes the recording of their Gdansk gig and is limited to 423 copies in a stunning 6-panel digipak.
