Cyclotimia is one of the most widely known Russian electronic bands. The band creates unique crossover soundscapes in the modern 'post-industrial' area, referred to as 'L'Electronique Mondial' by the musicians. "Trivial Pleasures" is the first part of their similarly titled "L'Electronique Mondial" trilogy which will include two more MCDs of their unique music. Created using mainly old Soviet analogue synths, "Trivial Pleasures" is a bit 'alien' to the previous works of the band, but at the same time is Cyclotimia's most radical and experimental album. After a lengthy gestation period, finally we can offer the debut release by this London artist (aka Rob Hart). This album has a few different faces - melancholic, acoustic tracks accompanied by harmonium; drones, hums, electrical hisses from the Tube; white noise and lo-fi analogue electronics; random extreme frequencies; ultra-mellow piano. Semen is a collaboration between Jakob Nybo (Hentai) and Henrik Nordvargr Björkk (MZ.412, Toroidh, Folkstorm). Hentai and Nordvargr ejaculate their audio semen into the cold electric womb, and watch in fear as an unnatural sonic offspring mutates, squirms in agony and slowly comes to life. Second album from this collaborative project between Russian activists Nick Soudnick (ZGA) and Alexander Lebedev-Frontov (Linija Mass / Stalnoy Pakt). While somewhat more accessible than "Simultannostb", "Promzona" carries over much of the same elements but in a more refined form, resulting in what is possibly their best release yet. Oxygen-starved symphonic loops, industrial field recordings, worker's speech samples, the sounds of a gramophone from the workshop and metallic clangs form a soundtrack to a desolate world of slowly sinking tugboats and aborted construction sites.
