Jim Haynes & Loren Chasse collaborate with Keith Evans to create Coelacanth's 4th and most complex record. Culled from two performances, 'Wrack Light in Copper Ruin' meditates on the space of performance, the tactile nature of the creation of sound, and its ephemeral, elusive and entirely subjective character. The visuals of Keith Evans further the exploration with their organic, nocturnal, energy. More delicate than Coelacanth's previous recordings, 'Wrack Light' inhabits a space where artists such as Jonathan Coleclough, Andrew Chalk, Mirror, and MNortham can be found, yet it maintains the mysterious, oceanic nature its name implies. Multitalented Norwegian composer Karsten Hamre is widely known for his legendary dark ambient/industrial entity Penitent. Under the name Dense Vision Shrine he composes more compact and complex dark music. “A Voyage of Imagination” includes only one, sixty two minute long, enigmatic composition. Be prepared for deep, gloomy neoclassical dark ambient, opening passages of other, distant dimensions. The CD is published in a limited edition of 500 pieces in an A5 booklet format.

This fine release by French act Eönä, presented on the new subdivision of Drama Company, provides the listener with a medieval / folk experience. Flute tunes are accompanied by singing birds, folkish guitars are paired with medieval voices, and lazy toms set the tempo by the campfire. For fans of Ataraxia, Trobar De Morte, Hekate etc. Comes in a nice digipak with woodland artwork.

Monumental Drone Doom by Stijn van Cauter, also known for his involvement in a number of Doom / Drone / Noise / Ambient projects, including Until Death Othertakes Me among others. Fall Of The Grey-Winged One has been compared to Earth and Sunn 0))), but with a bleak ambient orientation and minimalist industrial influences. If Sunn 0))) were to play conversions of Wierzba's pos-tapocalyptic grimness and M87's icy, deep-space desolation, this is what they would sound like. Professional release of the enigmatic 2002 recording, previously only available as a limited CDR.

“...Ceremony, greater than anything created by human, fights against anchored darkness. Ritual of blood, boiling blood. These impulses of sensitivity does not owe anything to the ancestors but a swarm of awkward children of earth...” Fans of Mervyn Peake's art will surely know its meaning. Goreghast is a side project of Destroyer (Paranoia Inducta) who creates Black / Dark Ambient - rhythmic and filled with inhuman sounds from another dimension. The CD comes in 6-panel foldout packaging and is finally wrapped in transparent material. Limited to 202 hand-numbered copies.

The second and last release from this Finnish project, which unfortunately has now ended. Four tracks of calm and relaxing ambient/folk, composed of classical guitars and keyboard melodies. First installment of split series CDs from the Monotype label, Japan. BusRatch comes recommended by Yoshihide Otomo as a “highly talented experimental turntable unit”. Hijyokaidan is a powerful force in contemporary Japanese noise. Recorded 8th February 2003 at Taku Taku, Kyoto, Japan. The intensity of this live performance is immediate. Extreme. Six tracks and sixty minutes of glorious Dark Ambient music presented in a white-trayed jewel case. Another hybrid manifestation of sound design created by members of Subinterior and New Risen Throne. Disquieting and obscure Dark Ambient, with some amazing melodic structures scattered throughout the songs.

Mainliner was started in 1995 by Asahito Nanjo from High Rise and Acid Mothers Temple leader Kawabata Makoto, in order 'to explore new possibilities' which would create 'a completely new type of heavy psychedelic group.' Mainliner introduced the world to the free-jazz drummer, Hajime Koizumi, and Kawabata Makoto's 'Motor Psycho' electric guitar. Japanese Psychalelic Noise at it’s best.

"The House Of Mourning" is that purifier building in which there's deep sorrow and disheartened grief due to the lack of our beloved ones and the inevitability of death. Some time spent with the sadness or grieving, helps us appreciate the simple things in our troubled condition. In the end, "The House Of Mourning" is the common admonition to our foolish arrogance". Montage is the violent solo unit by Koji Takagi, who runs the Harsh Noise, Power Electronics and Industrial Music label Monotype in Japan. Montage's sound consists of industrial and electric noise that's made to stimulate your nerves to corrupting chaotic insanity. This music is dedicated to all motherfuckers. Presented in a deluxe digibox A5-sized DVD packaging, this is the long-awaited second album by one of the most outstanding bands emerging from the mediaeval folk / heavenly voices scene (ex-Ordo Funebris). Arcane voices, powerful percussion and medieval / fantasy / neo-classical compositions for followers of Arcana, Dargaard, Dark Sanctuary and the literary work Tolkien. Very nice piece.

Olhon was born as a cooperative effort of Massimo Magrini (mastermind of Bad Sector) and Zairo (of the ultra-obscure dark ambient travellers Where). "Sinkhole" was composed using original field recordings taken (mainly underwater) in the "Pozzo del Merro", the world's deepest sinkhole. The result is an extremely organic, almost 'breathing' dark ambient journey - a challenging descent into the abyss spread across 10 eerie and deep, dark ambient tracks. Presented in a nice full colour digisleeve.

Brutal industrial / noise anti-music from Germany. The first three tracks on this release are taken from an extremely limited (x 39) CDR released by On Oath Records. Includes a cover of NON’s influential track ‘Total War’. On the underground Dutch label VENE (Voor Eeen Niew Europa).

Tábor Radosti (“Joy Camp”) is a mysterious duo coming from the magical Czech town Jihlava and has been active since 1995. A 45-minute blast of harsh noise from this Russian outfit, recorded in July 2004. From the upper cult status of the Norway's Black Metal scene, 1349 is full of striking power. Israeli act Arallu formed in 1997 with intention to perform barbarian black metal. “The Demon from the Ancient World” is their third album and is released on Czech label Epidemie. Worms of Sabnock is a London based band that functions as a side project for members of The Meads Of Asphodel. Worms of Sabnock play a powerfully cold version of classic Norwegian-styled Black Metal, and they do it quite well... The mix on this record is beefy; everything sounds amazing and balanced. The guitars here divebomb and scream back and forth broken up by haunting ethereal parts only to come careening back in a fury of bombast. A solid mix reminiscent of early Ulver / Satyricon. Highly recommended!
