"Stealth" presents itself as an exploration of sounds neither here nor there, textures camouflaged against their own background noise, and the distant crackling telemetric code-speak of a vague humanity hidden behind a cloak of deadly high-technology. Five deeply-layered extended tracks, mixed and edited from re-sampled location recordings originally captured inside the hanger environs of a Northrop-Grumman B-2 Stealth Bomber, during a period of downtime maintenance at a U.S. Air Force base in Cambridgeshire. Original field recordings and texture preparations by FOURM / Si_Comm.
First edition pressing of 1000 copies includes bonus disc comprised of this *pre-mix* material in its original, un-edited form, as a representation of the source audio from which "Stealth" was reconstituted.
Deep listening inspired by one of the most mysterious aircraft of the 20th century. Headphones recommended.

The band name comes from outer space (Candor Chasma is one of the largest canyons in the Valles Marineris canyon system on Mars) and their debut album is a 5-part hallucinogenic voyage inside analogue whirls, multilayered textures made of tapes and white noise, psychedelic frequencies and cerebral ambient-noise.

"The original on one side and the remixes on the other side. Karl Bösmann plays zither, bows, voice, hammer, ventillation, timpani, trumpet and trombone in the twenty minute title piece. I usually quite like his work and this new piece is no different. It seems to creating a hiatus with his older work in that it all seems to be derived from acoustic sound sources, rather than electronics. Its slowly building up, layer by layer and from a certain point on a moire like effect takes place, of shifting sounds, moving in and out of the mix. A fine complexity of dense sounds arrives and has a weird, almost avant-folk like character. The first remix is by Jan van den Dobbelsteen, The Netherlands' more conceptual composer. I have no idea what he did to the material, but 'radical rework' surely applies here. A static beep, like an alarm clock, repeated over and over. Ultra Milkmaids also do a form of reduction but in a more musical way, bringing everything down to just a few meandering organ like sounds. Hiroshi Hasegawa (Astro), on the other hand does what he does best, which is putting down a fine psychedelic mix of noise like sounds. Three entirely different remixes, none of which resembles the original at all. Now that's what I call a great remix project" (Vital Weekly).

Produced in 2010 for Germany’s hr2-kultur radio, “20 Zonen” (20 Zones) is Marc Behrens’ homage to Darmstadt, Germany, his hometown, and in particular the city’s Kranichstein district, where he grew up and learned to listen. Behrens made recordings in such locations like an equestrian club, a heavy ion research unit, a railway museum, and of trains and airplanes noisily cutting through the supposed serenity of the industrially planted forests around Darmstadt. From time to time the subjective microphone goes underwater and dips into the area’s various ponds, among them the world famous Messel Pit Fossil site. The intricately edited material is arranged into zones that form themselves into cells, into blocks, into a topophonic cross vein, set in a grey area between musique concrète and phonography. The idea for this project was in the air since the late 1980s. RLW CD: the basic recordings were created by RLW from early-mid 2009, sound sources are instrumental (piano, trombone) and household objects. First detailed sketches of the compositions include heavily treated versions of these recordings, cross-modulations with sounds supplied by DSM and with DSM-variations of the RWL sounds sent to Caen. DSM CD: with very few exceptions he used only the original sound recordings of RLW, using treatments only what would be conceived to be already into the realm of the compositional strategies. Playing back recordings through 'no-fi equipment' and recording them again, while manipulating mechanically reproduction and recording devices.

The squeaking metallic sound of the Blockaders with the crazy voices of Baer and Hjuler, along with some unclear tape manipulations make up to fierce statements of noise. And with such time restrictions, I’d think this is spot on. I have no idea why there is absolutely no information on the record itself or on the nicely printed insert. Two unheard tracks by the mysterious German duo Cranioclast. In keeping with the spirit of the 10" travel document series, issued by the krev ministry of detours, Cranioclast provide two rhythmic tracks in the form of cocktail recipes. Side 1 utilises a crazed out beatbox sound and intermingles the beat patterns with all kinds of noise and tape splicings. Woven in with this active soundscape is Cranioclast’s signature sound - distant voices. This time the human factor creeps in in the form of a small child babbling away. Side 2 is denser and not so overtly rhythmic - but there is much brooding under the surface going on. Ltd x 500. |

With "Tjukurrpa III", Troum shows a not
so well known side, using the trance power of repetitive
textures. In every of the 7 lengthy tracks, rhythms
in various moods build the basis: from smooth ambience
pulsations over ritualistic surroundings up to ecstatic
pounding harshness, from underneath and soft pulsative
patterns up to evolving harsh and overwhelming rhythmic
loops. The music on Tjukurrpa III is made by raw &
processed loops and hand-played percussion, along
with electric guitar and bass, balalaika, mouth organ,
