Beautifully eerie and a little more pro-drone than the bulk of TNB's work. The second track is just unbelievable, with a slow hiss of feedback torn apart by Corsano's triumphal, spirit / energy scattershots, marching a legion of ghosts all the way over the horizon. A live recording made in Paradox in Tilburg in October 2007. Over the past 20 years one of the bigger enigma's of 'industrial' music or 'modern musique concrete' has been THU20. This is a detailled balance between the various interests of the five players involved: the computer work of Jos Smolders and Roel Meelkop, the acoustic sound objects of Peter Duimelinks and Frans de Waard and the analogue electronics of Jacques van Bussel. After attending a Kapotte Muziek concert in Easthampton, USA, Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth) was asked by KM (Frans De Waard, Roel Meelkop and Peter Duimelinks) to expand on the idea of that concert. For the 12th part in the series "Kapotte Muziek by..." Moore carried this out in a totally free setting of piano, guitar and small objects, creating the concerts by removing the concert and replacing it by his own playing, where the original recording serves as a score.

Hungarian act Thy Catafalque was born in 1998 as an epic black metal band. Since that time it has progressed to its actual, very original music that can be described as avant-garde post black metal / ambient / folk. Utilizing Korber’s guitar sounds Ishigami crafts an intriguing electronic world over two pieces - austere electrics, frenzied digitalia, high pitches, bass drones, melodic waves of feedback and rhythmic pulses. Korber meanwhile begins his piece with a static piercing tone that dissipates suddenly into silence. A strategy he continues throughout the piece, building towards crescendos and the then dropping in a block of silence, only to startle with a single resonating tone.

Its poignant defiance of human mortality and faith in the transcending power of art rings out down the ages, finding an echo in this new work from Tony Wakeford, founder of seminal English dark folk band Sol Invictus. Wakeford's 4th solo album commemorates the life and work of the Polish-Ukrainian Jewish poetess Zuzanna Ginczanka, executed by the Gestapo in Kraków in 1944. All of the album’s lyrics are based on Ginczanka’s verses. This is in many ways a break with tradition. Normally Toshiya Tsunoda writes detailed descriptions of what he does per piece, but in this case it is just said he reworks an old cassette by Kapotte Muziek, called '4 Stukken'. Like the cassette there are four parts, corresponding with the original release and they are reworked in the best Tsunoda tradition, involving field recordings and strange and unusual on-site recordings. Rather than being documental or naturalistic, his pieces appear as unique music compositions concerned with the relation between space and cognition, rendering the vibration of objects audible, revealing the hidden beauty in each sonic detail. He captures the depth of the landscape, the vital breathing of things.

Hypnotic, hallucinatory guitar feedback from Matthew Bower (Skullflower, Hototogisu, Sunroof!, Pure). Originally the project was noise and industrial oriented and received occasional help from members of Ramleh and Ake. Towards the later 1980's the sound became more guitar oriented, leading to the creation of Skullflower. In the early 1990's, Matthew brought back the Total name to release his solo music aside from Skullflower. Back in 1988 Arbeit Group released obscure industrial-noise release by a project called Trait. The A-side of the tape included several different arrangements for inspiration in battle. The B-side included several of those arrangements combined together for temporary unified action. 45 minutes of the most primitive analogue destruction, leaving no place for easy listening or relaxing moments. Coarse sounds of tape loops, manipulation and electronics make this into difficult industrial-noise. Trait is one of the most vicious works of Eric Lunde (Boy Dirt Car). The material has been transferred from the original master tapes by the artist himself, leaving everything 100% as is. The artwork is faithful to the original release, replicating the it as accurately as possible.

Reissue of two rare vinyls, presented on one CD. This is the ritual face of Troum! "Darvê Sh" was released in 2003 as a 10” vinyl on Beta-Lactam Ring Records, as part 10 in the "Lactamase" series. Darvê Sh is the etymological Persian source for "Dervish", meaning "doorway" (a metaphor for being between this world and the netherworld). "Ajin" was released in 2005 as a picture disc 12” vinyl on Equation Records. Ajin is Hebrew for "eye", but also means "colour" or "source" and is the 16th letter of the Hebrew alphabet. "Daur" (was the very first release of Troum (Ltd x 300, Cohort Records) and it presents very post-rock sounding material with a lot of decipherable guitar parts and a good drive. "Ljubimaya" was released by the Russian label Waystyx (Ltd x 455) and carries you towards a lyrical and touchy eternity of ever-beginning melodies without an end, into the emptiness of existence with all the uterine roar provided by Yen Pox on one of the tracks. Reissue of Troum's rare 2005 album (Ltd x 100, Mystery Sea). "Objectlessness" explores the gap between rational, verbal language and the pre-symbolic language of our emotional and unconscious mind. Music is perceived partly with our conscious mind and partly by our primal consciousness that lies under the rational mind. Experimental music, especially that of a more droning character, can be unconsciously connected with this primal state of mind. It is music that is linked with unconscious fantasies coming from a pre-verbal sphere of existence... the phase of life based on the dyadic interaction with the primal object: the mother. Spheric, droning, dissolving music is pointing unconsciously at this “objectless” sphere of existence. This release is dedicated to the idea of an especially formed “pre-symbolic” music.
