Over 11 years in the making (1995-2006), 'Seraphim Hallucino' is widely considered to be Act 2 of the "virtual" opera trilogy begun by Oblivion Ensemble's 1995 release of 'Nightmare: Sinistrotorse'. At Seraphim Hallucino’s source are strange, electro-acoustic improvisations of percussion, trumpet, voice, synthesizers and guitar- sculpted and sampled, twisted and turned, shaped into building and diminishing moments, and, at times appearing alone, pure and unmodified. OLHON - 'Sinkhole' CD (Eibon Records)
Olhon was born as a cooperative effort of Massimo Magrini (mastermind of Bad Sector) and Zairo (of the ultra-obscure dark ambient travellers Where). "Sinkhole" was composed using original field recordings taken (mainly underwater) in the "Pozzo del Merro", the world's deepest sinkhole. The result is an extremely organic, almost 'breathing' dark ambient journey - a challenging descent into the abyss spread across 10 eerie and deep, dark ambient tracks. Presented in a nice full colour digisleeve.
"Underwater passage" is based upon underwater recordings taken in 2006 by Zairo (Where), which were then treated by Massimo Magrini (Bad Sector). These recordings were taken using special sensing microphones attached to an abandoned telephone cable running on the seabed at -40m. They were then processed with particular demodulating treatments, resulting in a complex and rich ambiental monument, with strange clicks, impulses and a lot of movements. Definitely far from the usual concept of dark ambient, "Underwater passage" shimmers with cutting mid / high frequencies bursts. Digipak.

I had to describe with sounds the white landscape, the blinding light reflected by the frozen oceans, the abyssal silence. "The Spirals of Time" is considered the best of Oophoi's albums and has been recognised as one of the best drone-ambient projects of all time. Now this legendary album has been reissued in a deluxe 3-CD set! The material on this project was taken from two concerts, played in the studio of the Italian maestro, in the "Kiva", in April and in June, 1997. The third disk is a recording from a concert which was played in an old farmhouse in Assisi (central Italy) in 1999. This record was initially created to become the finishing disk of this trilogy. The Northern nations of Siberia use the term “Oorchach” to define a very specific archaic artefact of the household - an iron ring attached to new-born domestic animals to prevent them from sucking their mother’s milk. It is a powerful archaic symbol embodying the encounter with remorseless reality in early childhood. The signs and sounds of these shamanic cultures extinguished in times immemorial are revived in the ritual ambient / industrial project Oorchach (Lithuanian artist PoPo). "Two tracks recorded in 2003 with only a vague hint of the classic Organum sound. The drone material is there, but the sound is slightly similar to The New Blockaders, with the addition of random piano chords. On side two, there is the distorted sound of Tibetan horns added on a similar bed of sounds. It's a distinct break away from the pure Organum drone sound, with an interesting addition of new sounds that especially in 'Happy' works well.
