"1st release from new label by MSBR and K2. I'm SORE is electro acoustic noise unit by Ian Masters (ex. PAIL SAINTS on 4AD). He makes psychedelic atmospheric noise, some parts are like soundtrack of movies. The tracks by American artist PRINCESS DRAGON MOM are very harsh and aggressive. Many people have an interest in their performance (it's like RIOT by them and audience!!!) but sounds in this CD are really strong and great. I imagine HARD ROCK spirit in Detroit, for example MC5!!!" That's the slightly confusing but understandable explanation in the Born Horse promo sheets that certainly sum it up.

IHVHLXXII - 'Shemhamphorash' CD (Dying Art Productions)
Re-edition of the first release on Dying Art, China (original ltd x 200). IHVHLXXI, whose name derives from the ancient Greek and Hebrew symbols for fire, water, air and earth, originate from provincial China. Their music comes with a deep philosophical and historical origin. The music morphs from ghostly and heavy Dark Ambient with insane Chinese screams and ramblings, to guitar-based and percussive pieces, to melancholic Neoclassical compositions. Great split release from Chicago's stalwart post-Industrial ensemble Illusion Of Safety and Germany's dronecore specialist Thomas Köner. Illusion Of Safety takes a confrontationist approach by opening their condensed program with a jarring clatter of fragmented film-noir orchestrations that are roughly broken into a nervous drone. Köner's approach is far more subtle, gently pushing forward a sublime drone and allowing it to fade into silence. Released on the occasion of a rare performance that took place on 19 September 2002 at the Lagerhaus, Bremen. Regular edition of 400 copies.

Reminds me of Megaptera in places, whilst drenched in the saturating noise of other American artists such as Baal or Gruntsplatter. Heavy going!

INCAPACITANTS - 'Burning Orange' CD (Pica Disk)
Incapacitants need no introduction. The duo of Fumio Kosakai and T.Mikawa are veterans and originators of Japanese noise music and are cult band number one for noise fanatics worldwide. In January 2007 Incapacitants performed live, for only the second time in Europe in 25 years, at the All Ears festival in Oslo Norway (the band later described the two shows as highlights of their career). "Burning Orange" documents these concerts. The CD consists of two complete sets; one Incapacitants as a duo and on the second joined by Finnish noise connoisseur Tommi Keränen (Testicle Hazard, Gentle Evil), who describes incapacitants in the liner notes as "...an inspiring, pure, all-encompassing, ecstatic storm of sound that has a power of near-religious proportions". Made up of Toshiji Mikawa (Hijokaidan) and Fumio Kosakai (C.C.C.C.), the goal of Tokyo's Incapacitants is to find 'pure noise' using any means necessary - although usually from electronics and vocals. “Ministry of Foolishness” is a damn good try to attain this goal with three tracks totalling nearly 75 minutes of the harshest, most brutal Japanese Noise with absolutely no pleasant moments or quiet lulls.
