GRUNTSPLATTER - 'The Aberrant Laboratory' CD (Dark Vinyl)
(2006) The fourth release from Gruntsplatter builds a more transcendent atmosphere, weaving together a sustained darkness that conceals the grimy implements of the taboo nestled in the din. The brooding ambience and cutting frequencies combine with odd melody and an enveloping, fluid mix that lead you through the dirty laboratories and hovels of forbidden science where genius and atrocity meet on level ground. The familiar components of subtle detail, amorphous depth, and seething moods of Gruntsplatter are intact and further evolved here to allow the listeners thoughts to wander. Comparable to Blackhouse, Hunting Lodge, Throbbing Gristle, SPK, Lustmord etc.

GRUNTSPLATTER - 'The Eulogists Assembly' CD (Eibon Records)
(2005) Bringing "Death Industrial" to new, never before experienced levels, US noise manipulators Gruntsplatter throw us in a deserted, abandoned, otherworldly land where the only sounds come from agonizing machineries, abandoned to their inevitable rusting processes – construction, concretion, abrasion, decay. A flow of energetic noise bursts mixed with dark ambiences, a new sensational chapter in the Gruntsplatter saga.
GRUNTSPLATTER - 'The Passions Of A Cripple' 12" (Force Of Nature)
(2005) Gruntsplatter (aka Scott E. Candey) delivers 6 tracks of unrelenting Death Industrial, adding snarling power electronic vocals - but there are also some lulls of repetition and consistency, with intricately layered and arranged rumbling dark ambient atmospheres. Candey continues on his path to explore the dark side of music. Ltd x 300 copies on beautiful blue marbled vinyl. Now a rare piece!

IN DEATH'S THROES - 'Infernal Deities Transcending' CD (Live Bait)
(1999) Debut album from this US act, released on the band's own labell. One half of IDT also being the man behind Murderous Vision, one can imagine what to expect here. A difficult CD with dark noisy atmospheres, enriched by deep, serious vocals. Some tracks have an uneasy feeling - drones, noises and repetition have a kind of intoxicating effect on the listener. Reminds me of Megaptera in places, whilst drenched in the saturating noise of other American artists such as Baal or Gruntsplatter. Heavy going!

SCRELOMA - 'Dirt' CD (Three Plugs Records)
Debut album from Jun-ichi Takahashi's noise project. "Dirt is six tracks and 40+ minutes of an amalgamation of power electronics and rhythmic noise that wouldn’t be out of place on the Ant Zen record label. Comparisons to P.A.L, Hypnoskull and Converter spring readily to mind… with a little touch of Dissecting Table and Merzbow thrown in for good measure… all wrapped up in typical Japanese brutality and originality... Thundering beats compete against electronic distorted squeals and grunting vocals in a fight to the death as the orgy of noise reaches orgasmic proportions." (Aural Pressure). Japanese import.
