BEEQUEEN - 'Time Waits For No One' CD (Herbal International)
Reissue of this 1994 CD from Beequeen, (Staalplaat, Ltd 1000). "Frans de Waard and Freek Kinkelaar convey many alternatively bleak, if imagistic, soundscapes... drones of catatonia immersed in cryogenic guitar feedback or the steamy smelt of arcane industry. Atonal occasionally, even unearthly, yet strangely accessible, these works are part of an aesthetic wherein the forging of an unfamiliar sound canvas becomes the springboard from which the listener can extract pictures, panoramas, shapes... Engrossing music that subtly leaves the impression to come back and experience it further." (The Wire). Ltd x 1000 copies in a 6-panel digifile. Malaysian import.

CYCLOTIMIA - 'Algorithms' CD (War Office Propaganda / Rage In Eden)
Reissue of Cyclotimia's 2005 album (Irond). Moscow duo Cyclotimia is one of the best recognised, well-known Russian projects in the electronic scene today. On "Algorithms" album Cyclotimia presents apocalyptic version of electronic music, dark ambient sounds supported by bouncing electronic rhythms, religious samples and different effects, all blended in that way which makes this album very intriguing. Cyclotimia's trademark sound proceeds from using a mix of the modern synthesis technologies and cult vintage analogue / Soviet machines. For all who listen into Ulver, Holon or Forma Tadre. Digipak.
Probably the most depressing Deutsch Nepal album, earlier released as a limited edition by Staalplaat (1999), now with new artwork. Genial project author Der General remarked sometime ago that during the recording of "Erosion" there persisted the feeling that this was the last work of Deutsch Nepal after which nothing will remain... perhaps only death. This almost came true as Deutsch Nepal went silent after the recording for nearly 10 years. Now the masterpiece of melancholy clad in an elegant digipak and with an enhanced sound triumphantly opens the golden worlds to the audience again.
The genial album "Tolerance" is one more golden deja vu of industrial culture, originally released by Staalplaat (1994). The new release of this cult album enjoys an enhanced sound and a new package design from the author Lina Baby Doll. Those who do not know Lina Baby Doll’s masterpieces, should be informed that "Tolerance" is an artefact of the early stage of Deutsch Nepal's music. The period is characterised by ritual tribal rhythms, mesmerising loops and indeed suggestive psychedelic atmospheres. Digipak.
DO SHASKA! - 'Alchymische Alraune' CD (Guerilla Records)

They spread their imagination with increasing darkness through various visions.

FURSAXA - 'Alone In The Dark Wood' CD (ATP Recordings)
Alone in the Dark Wood is the fifth full-length release from West Philly-based solo artist TAra Burke aka Fursaxa who boasts a fan base with the likes of Bardo Pond, Acid Mothers Temple and Thurston Moore who released a record by her on his Ecstatic Peace! imprint. A previous member of the band UN, Burke is now one of the epicentres and key collaborators of the North American free-folk movement, along with such luminaries as Jack Rose, Charalambides, Ben Chasny and the Jewelled Antler Collective. With her hypnotic, echo-y churchbell chanting, Burke possesses a power-filled vocal sound that harkens back not only to those other polar queens of disaffected freakout psychedelia Nico and Barbara Manning, but she is also akin to and inspired by Hildegard von Bingen, the 12th-century Benedictine mystical abbess. With the low drone of chord organ and Farfisa, detuned ringing guitar, and endlessly looped, multiply-tracked vocals applied with heaps of delay, Fursaxa sounds like a tripped-out medievalist perched upon a poppy petal. Burke has an alchemical knack for turning folk into lo-fi, and then into sheer psych and back again, but more importantly, her music is pure humming narcosis.

GOLGATHA AND DAWN & DUSK ENTWINED - 'Sang Graal' CD (Cold Meat Industry)
’Sang Graal’ is an opus magnum, built in symbiotic collaboration during the last two years by the French masters of martial neo-classic Dawn and Dusk Entwined and the German Ritual-folk-band Golgatha. Both bands worked on all tracks together, combining their styles and forces to create a powerful neo-classical-folk-opera with occasional glimpses of soundtrack pathos and dark ambience. Martial tunes like ’The Messiah’ or ’Cross of Lorraine’ and majestic folk hymns like ’Crusade’ and ’A Seeker Divine’ will rule the darkest dance floors worldwide, while introspective ballads invite those interested in a deep listening experience. The title refers to the myth of the Saint Graal, the ’holy grail’, and the ’sang réal’, the bloodline of Jesus Christ. ’Sang Graal’ is true aural mythology! Digipak.

INANNA - 'Day Ov Torment' CD (Cold Spring CSR71CD)
Reissue of the massive Death Industrial album from this ARCHON SATANI side-project, originally issued by Staalplaat in 1993. INANNA were at the forefront of a new force in Doom Ambience way back in the early '90s. This is stunningly re-mastered and re-packaged album brings alive one of the classic scene albums - a milestone in ultra grim and crushing death sonics, that paved the way for many Drone and Ritual Industrial bands around today. Mixed by J Havukainen (IN SLAUGHTER NATIVES).
"Ergosphere" was recorded live during Kazuyuki Kishino’s (Zeni Geva, etc.) tour of Russia in late 2005, specifically on his only two solo dates, live at Moscow Palace of Youth in Moscow Russia October 5, 2005 and “Festival Hea Uus Heli” Kanuti Gildi Saal in Tallinn Estonia on October 7, 2005. An uneasy balance of lull and divide.

MUSLIMGAUZE - 'Sycophant Of Purdah' CD (Staalplaat)
Part of Staalplaat's ongoing Muslimgauze archive series, "Sycophant of Purdah" was submitted in 1994 then “replaced” by another master Bryn Jones felt more fit for release. "Sycophant" then languished in the vaults until present, nearly a decade after Jones' passing. Despite being of the same sub-genre as the old-school Industrial stylings of "Zealot", "Blue Mosque" etc, "Sycophant" could be considered a 'missing link' that ties them together - with ethno-breaks added for variance. None of the track listings, handwritten by Jones, are repeated on any other release, hence "Sycophant of Purdah" is a must have for fans and collectors. Text by Ibrahim Khider, author of “Muslimgauze: Chasing the Shadow of Bryn Jones". Ltd x 700 copies in a digipak.

PETER REHBERG - 'Kapotte Muziek By Peter Rehberg' MCD (Korm Plastics)
The fourteenth installment in this series is a mini CD by Peter Rehberg (Pita / KTL). For his rework, Rehberg used the recordings of the very first Kapotte Muziek workshop (and concert) held in september 1997, as part of Staalplaat's 'Masterclass' event at the Korzo Theatre, in Den Haag. Moving away from digital computer noise for this work, Rehberg crafted a beautifully soft but outspoken piece of music. Low rumbles at micro levels and moments of silence are interspersed with isolated throbs and shimmering mid-frequency drones. A total playing time of 17:30.
The first LP by Dutch act Staplerfahrer and also the first LP released by Heilskabaal Records. The A side is the soundtrack to "Treetops for the New Millenium (a film by Mahatma LeRoi)". A 15 minute long Stars of the Lid-esque track - slowly building with lots of hidden tension. On the flipside you'll find "Lullaby (for my Dad)", also a slowly arising, captivating piece, but more staccato. Finally there is "Lover's Breath" - a very open and clear collage-piece of field recordings. Shrinkwrapped, with beautiful artwork.
