SUI GENERIS UMBRA - 'Ater' CD (Dying Art Productions)
Sui Generis Umbra is the new guise of Polish act Umbra. Dark haunted occult music, similar to Aghast. The music of Umbra has a special, magical, dark and secret atmosphere. It flows out of a lonely heart which belongs to a creature from another world. A world with no time, a world freed from reality. Hidden in the world of solitude and darkness, living among the old superstitions Lady Lugalla describes a world in which the unreal coexists with the real. Howling of the distant wind, scornful yells, the singing of bells playing the demons' song called Ater. A song which comes straight out of the depths of Lady Lugalla's heart. A spell that takes the listener on a trip to the magical world of The Witch! Originally released in 2000 by Fluttering Dragon, now re-issued with new artwork in an edition of 500 copies.
VISTHIA - 'In Aeternum Deleti' CD (ATMF)
There was a time when extreme music was not a mere shouting exercise, but a Vision, an idea of how to develop the magma of creation. Hailing from Italy, Visthia confirm the innovative attitude and contribution this scene is giving to reawakening the daring attitude that scene seems to have lost. Where others merely stopped to investigate, Visthia crossed the Rubicon, passing through the most extreme metal hemispheres to the industrial fields, resulting in the Black Powernoise genre. Told through the Latin tongue, the Occult Tradition becomes untold. The platter is enriched by the contribution of the internationally renowned artist Nicola Samorì, known for his unique style, bringing modern decay into the crystalized perfection of the ancient. File beside Dødheimsgard, Diabolicum, MZ.412 and Aborym.

UMBRA NIHIL - 'The Borderland Rituals' CD (Epidemie Records)
After their debut album "Gnoia", Finnish band Umbra Nihil present "The Borderland Rituals: - 5 long obscure, frosty compositions of hypnotic doom metal. The album was inspired by the brooding horror novel The House on the Borderland. In order to achieve a suitable claustrophobic sound and eerie, forbidding atmosphere the album was recorded in an isolated and quarantined abandoned house, sullenly crafting the band's sound into a more organic and gelatinous direction. As the troupe's sound went through changes amidst the locale of rural decay, so did the initial Hodgsonian concept of the album - turning from a mere literary reference in lyrics into a much more personal account of borderland existence.
