PYHÄ KUOLEMA - 'Saavun Vaikken Kulkisi' CD (Anima Arctica)
Pyhä Kuolema is a solo project of Mikko Pöyhönen after the Neofolk duo Tuhat Kuolemaa Sekunnissa disbanded. Out of the ruins grew something new, beautiful and fresh - the birth of an extremely intimate, emotional, personal, and spiritual solo-project. Traditional to the bone, ”Saavun Vaikken Kulkisi” brings forth a dozen of atmospheric, national romantic, extremely emotional and personal songs sung in Finnish. The style of playing and singing varies from solemn ritualistic Neofolk songs to troubadour-like playful approach to traditional folk. Ltd x 300 copies.

TUHAT KUOLEMAA SEKUNNISSA - 'Tuhat Kuolemaa Sekunnissa' CD (Anima Arctica)
Noble & Honest Neofolk rooted firmly to the pagan grounds of Finland. "These songs are made to rise higher than pines, and the brilliant melodies glitter like silvery lakes under the holy sun. Some of these tracks are surely to be sung along with tears in eyes by lonely listeners, and some out loud by like-minded minds affected by blessed beers and wicked wines. This record is mainly performed with two acoustic guitars and bass guitar held by men with fierce fire in minds and souls... in the language of their ancestors... A reverend nod is given in the direction of the classics of the British Isles' Neofolk genre, which shake hands with archaic songs sung by Finnish tribes next to fireplaces in nightless night, in lightless winter of this cold, cold country." Tuhat Kuolemaa Sekunnissa disbanded and Mikko Poyhonen is now known as Pyhä Kuolema. Ltd x 1000 copies.
