SOL INVICTUS - 'In The Rain' CD (Infinite Fog Productions / Eternal Pride Productions)
One of the fundamental and significant albums of the world's dark folk stage, originally issued by Tursa in 1995. "In the Rain stands as a favourite Sol Invictus album for many, and it's the mellowest and most string-heavy of them all, including piano, cello and two violins in the lineup. The booklet features especially striking expressionist artwork by Tor Lundvall" [Strange Fortune]. This Russian edition comprises an exclusive bonus track "Stay 2007". Limited to just 300 copies! Highly recommended!

SOL INVICTUS - 'The Devil’s Steed' CD (Dark Vinyl / Tursa)
Sol Invictus’s first outing on Dark Vinyl is a nod back in the direction to a more earthy folk sound. Taken from Russian folklore the title track "Steeds For The Devil" concerns suicide, while there are the usual happy Tony Wakeford songs. Two traditional songs get the Sol Invictus treatment - "Twa Corbies" and "Three Knights Came from the West". Philip Larkin’s poem "The North Ship" also becomes the basis for one song. Artwork on this release is from Tor Lundvall, with the first Limited edition coming in a 6 panel luxury digipak.

TONY WAKEFORD - 'Cupid & Death' CD (Tursa)
"Cupid & Death" is devoted to the theme of vanitas, the juxtapositioning of beauty with the fleetingness of life. While the CD contains pieces in the classic Tony Wakeford (Sol Invictus) style, classical instruments are used in conjunction with keyboard and electric guitar to establish a timeless mood located somewhere between the present and the arcane. Perhaps the most impressive piece is the opening track - a 1653 baroque masque set to Tony's own music, with vocal accompaniment by Karl Blake. Also appearing: Eric Roger (Gae Bolg), Matt Howden (Sieben). Features stunning original artwork by Andrew King and Tor Lundvall.

TOR LUNDVALL - 'Empty City' CD (Strange Fortune)
Where “Last Light” was about looking inward, “Empty City” ventures out to a fantastic, frightening new world, a decayed urban setting much different than anything Tor ever explored in the past. Where “Last Light” was centered around words, on “Empty City” the music takes over once again. There are vocals but used exclusively in an instrumental manner, no lyrics needed this time. The subtle underlying melodic structure of this music means it may be the most listenable "ambient" music you've ever heard, while it's all drenched in a singularly moody, haunted atmosphere that is Tor's real trademark. File under “ghost ambient”. First edition is limited to 955 numbered copies in matt digipak.

TOR LUNDVALL - 'Ice' CD (Eternal Autumn Editions)
The second season-themed release from this visual artist, now building a reputation as a great musician. This release features icy vocals from Tor himself with his trademark haunting melodies invoking thoughts of winter and the coldest days. As with all Tor’s releases, the artist’s own work graces the cover. Another fine release from the Sol Invictus collaborator!

TOR LUNDVALL - 'Under The Shadows Of Trees' CD (Eternal Autumn Editions)
The fourth and final chapter in Tor’s seasons cycle is his dreamiest music ever. The track order follows the slow progression of a summer day from morning through evening. Many of the songs were constructed around the after-effects of pure reverb, giving the music a soft and hazy quality. Another recommended release!
