When "The Carnival Of Ourselves" was originally released on vinyl (2006, Tonefloat), Belgian legend Dirk Serries had only just started recording under the name of Fear Falls Burning. This album turned out to be decisive in shaping his vision of an ongoing drone-manifesto. "The Carnival of Ourselves" pointed towards an immersive and ghostly ambient sound.
