(2001) First proper CD release by this German project of Stefan Hanser. The sounds range from beautiful ambient soundscapes to more harsh, loopy noise tracks. Layers of distorted rhythms, haunting drones and rumbling Industrial Noise make this a recommended release for fans of early Orphx, Throbbing Gristle and SPK. Ltd x 500 numbered copies.

DAVID JACKMAN & PHILIP SANDERSON - 'Terrain' 10" (Die Stadt)
(2002) Two tracks from early cassette releases. Side A is an alternative version of "Terrain" by Jackman and Sanderson, originally released on the "0 Degrees North" cassette (Aeroplane 1982). With Jackman overdubbing low guttural growls on a steel strung cello and Sanderson programming coffee-percolation on a drum machine, "Terrain" is a lo-fi production that finds its companions in the work of Throbbing Gristle, Hunting Lodge, and the Broken Flag camp of noise. Side B is a solo piece by Jackman, originally released on the 'Adrift' cassette (Snatch Tapes 1981). It is similarly lo-fi with a hypnotic loop of a monochromatic guitar topped with clanging metals and samples from orchestral swells, which have been drained of all color and replaced with a swampy din. Regular edition of 400 copies.

GRUNTSPLATTER - 'The Aberrant Laboratory' CD (Dark Vinyl)
(2006) The fourth release from Gruntsplatter builds a more transcendent atmosphere, weaving together a sustained darkness that conceals the grimy implements of the taboo nestled in the din. The brooding ambience and cutting frequencies combine with odd melody and an enveloping, fluid mix that lead you through the dirty laboratories and hovels of forbidden science where genius and atrocity meet on level ground. The familiar components of subtle detail, amorphous depth, and seething moods of Gruntsplatter are intact and further evolved here to allow the listeners thoughts to wander. Comparable to Blackhouse, Hunting Lodge, Throbbing Gristle, SPK, Lustmord etc.

KNIFELADDER - 'The Spectacle' CD (Cryonica)
"The Spectacle" is the follow up to the monumental "Organic Traces" album. This tribal organic Industrial trio consists of Andrew Trail (Inertia, AntiValium), John Murphy (SPK, The Associates, Death in June), and Hunter Barr (AntiValium, Infant Skull Surgery) - here unleashing an amazing (proper) industrial album of pounding percussion mixed with doomy electronic soundscapes and twisted songs melodies. For fans of Throbbing Gristle, SPK, Whitehouse etc.
LUSTMORD - 'First - A Document Of Early Acoustic & Tactical Experimentation' CD (Dark Vinyl)
"First" was released as the first (untitled) Lustmord album on Sterile Records in 1982. The earliest Lustmord recordings show the project's industrial roots with a sound not far from Throbbing Gristle. This record incomparably represents art, ideology, uncompromising consequence and sound tactical proceeding of one of the most interesting, still existing members of the industrial music movement. "First" features John Balance of Coil and additional voices by Nigel Ayers of Nocturnal Emissions, and Nigel Dunster. The CD version features longer edits of some of the LP material, along with additional material (compilation tracks) not on the original.

MONNO - 'Error' CD (Conspiracy Records)
Dense, abstract, challenging, and confrontational. Monno stands out from the legacy of doomsayers that includes Throbbing Gristle, Suicide, Whitehouse, and more recently Wolf Eyes and Lightning Bolt. Monno are impressively abrasive in sending atomic blasts of fury, but beneath the shock value of these overwhelming sonic miasmas are throat-grappling melodies evoking a dense, brutal trance. The CD is presented in a very nice silver outsized booklet.

NIKO SKORPIO - 'Escape From Heaven' CD (Some Place Else)
Composed between 2000-2005, the musick could be described as 'industrial', mostly because it pays homage to the early Industrial groups such as Throbbing Gristle, Coil or Psychic TV by being a wide-ranged beast of experimentation including some nice deep dark ambient soundscapes. Escape from Heaven also carries a loose storyline that can be interpreted in occult, mythological, social and personal levels. Basically the album is a Manifesto of personal Liberation and a declaration of war against all forces of boredom and stagnation.
The collaboration between the two renowned French acts naturally lead to these sensational recordings of raw industrial tracks, in the old-school tradition of early SPK and Throbbing Gristle amongst others. A collection of drumboxes and analogic synths based hits. Two tracks by PPF, four tracks by ICK and three collaborative pieces. Red vinyl with insert. Ltd x 500 copies only!

After being hidden in time for about 25 years this Industrial milestone of the infamous 1st generation has been renovated, extended and digitally overworked by CaTV. The members at that time were known as Operator, Ne(H)il and Tone Generator. SPK explore the concept of various psycho-pathological conditions, especially schizophrenia, manic-depressive psychosis, mental retardation and paranoia. Information overload supersedes normal, rational thought structures, forcing deviation into less restrictive mental procedures of so-called 'mental illness'. This DVD compiles material that marked the genesis of the group, with rare live performances covering music from “Leichenschrei” to “Information Overload”, live rehearsal footage, slide shows, documentary and a filmed interview with Tone Generator (Domink Guerin). The only group in industrial music history that stands on the same level as Throbbing Gristle. Rated 18+.
PAL, Region 0 (will play in all European DVD players).

VERDE - 'Legenda' CD (Musically Incorrect Records)
"Legenda" is the second official CD by Verde, lead by electronics madman Mika Rintala (ex-Circle). "Legenda" is a logical continuum of the 1960's and 1970's wild electronic experiments and general recklessness of Finnish Underground Music, with evident influences of Krautrock heroes Faust, Can, Neu and Amon Düül - and the early Industrial pioneers Nurse With Wound, Throbbing Gristle etc. "The music of Verde is not meant for superficial listening. Verde challenge their listeners instead of trying to please them". Limited edition of 500 copies in a beautiful digipak.
