(2008) Infestation is the martial industrial act of Louis Carrier. The act is best defined by its burning orchestral textures and its violent percussion that give rhythm and life to combative vocal clamours. Evoking subjects concerning the fight for subsistence of cultural heritage, the project covers the unending determination of the minority French-speaking people of Québec that survives through centuries of assimilation and gives the clear indication that struggling is never vain. The project is influenced by the like of Puissance, In Slaughter Natives, Triarii, The Protagonist, Across the Rubicon and Rome. 6-panel digipak.
Another release to celebrate 15 years of Megaptera! "Extended Chaos" consists of two old releases, "Near Death" and "Beautiful Chaos". "Near Death" (cassette, Sound Source 1991) was Megaptera's first official release and is the only release with all 3 members (Peter Nyström, Magnus Pettersson, Mikael Svensson). Using drum machine, various synths, movies, TV, radio and microphone they created a totally analogue and dirty death theme. On this CD, 3 bonus tracks are added from the same period. Get prepared for old school! "Beautiful Chaos" (MCD, Fever Pitch 1998), has been extended to 10 tracks. The extra material is the two classic tracks 'Shadowland' and 'Sodom' from the "Death Odors" compilation, the two tracks from the "In the Butchers Backyard" compilation, a bombastic remix of the apocalyptic 'Final Day' (by The Protagonist) and an extended version of 'Shadowland', remixed by Peter Nyström and Magnus Sundström. The sound of "Beautiful Chaos" is structured and heavy with an "end of the world" theme, using sampled and mixed sounds. Mastered by Magnus Sundström. The first solo release from Fire In The Head's protagonist Mike Page is finally issued on Scottish label At War With False Noise. This is one long and untitled U.S. Noise / Power Electronics piece, clocking it at almost 44 minutes and is fucking brutal! A lengthy plunge into the depths of carefully-constructed aural extremity, utterly loud and heavy as fuck and utilising as many extremes of tone that your poor lugs can take! Sometimes it all goes a bit quiet and you think there's going to be an extended period of aural respite... until some shrieking high-end comes in and blows away any idea of shelter from the onslaught.
