Japanese noise inspired by: "Crowded towns and city networks... tinnitus in a ghost town... forgotten memories, vomiting and sinking into a stagnant river bed.. guitar feedback in the chilly rain... a putrid mess in the corner of a dirty town. Outbursts of chirping crickets in the night fog, harsh noise and drone... hellish rumbles from the earth and endless darkness.... black solitude harsh drone works".
Harsh Noise from Japan. A Japanese hybrid human / noise-machine that creates noise-scapes of unfathomed depths. Banging hand-made noise generators aka “SHIBAKI Electronics” made of iron plates, creating a dazzling spectra of sounds, from ultra-fast extremely trippy harsh barrages to meditative spacy sounds. Experience the roar of his live electronics with your own flesh. Includes a collaboration with Sudden Infant. Series III ('loud') in the Ground Fault series.
This 7" EP decisively marks Guilty Connector's new identity, the first side focusing the electronics of the project's renown into an orchestra of feedback drones to realise a searing, attentive piece of tension and resolution. The second side is a re-thought collection of sounds utilising minute low-end whisperings and subtle textural introductions for a subdued counterpoint to the scald of the first. Cut at Abbey Road and pressed at Sydney's Vinyl Factory for attentive sound reproduction. Ltd x 200 copies with collage colour outer and greyscale inner covers, and handstamped labels. Australian import. ACT FAST!

MERZBOW / THE GUILT ØF... - 'Split' LP (Chrome Peeler)

" a New Orleans-based group made up of Mike IX Williams (EyeHateGod, Outlaw Order, Arson Anthem) and Ryan McKern (Wolvhammer) layer waves of piano, fuzz, tortured vocals, drums and distorted sub-bass to create a mesmerizing and crushing drone-like effect. PETER J WOODS - 'Fairweather Mask' CD (Autumn Wind Productions)
"We tread dark waters on a day to day basis, holding ourselves up to a higher standard because of nothing more than pride. Our society has built an intricate system in which we seek out guilt, hoping to find some for ourselves in an effort to justify our existence. Past pains give us status, but we forgo the pain and jump straight to the romanticized ideal. Fairweather Mask explores this phenomenon, touching on both the forms of communication which create this system and the guilt that arises as well." A commanding presence from Peter J. woods in this theatre of Noise, Power Electronics and vocal barrages, justification is what you seek for all the things you do...to yourself. Ltd x 1000 copies.

SCOTT HULL - 'Requiem' CD (Relapse Records)
"Requiem", the first score from veteran sound-designer Scott Hull (Pig Destroyer, Agoraphobic Nosebleed), is a beautiful yet acutely sobering work of profound depth and reach. "Requiem" explores the pathos of death, the burden of guilt, and the weight of consequence in all their stages. Dark Ambient / Drone / Experimental music influenced by Morricone and Popol Vuh and films such as The Shining, Dead Man, Aguirre and more, "Requiem" further establishes Hull as a modern virtuoso. STROTTER INST. - 'Minenhund' CD (Hinterzimmer / Public Guilt)
Strotter Inst. makes music created through the use of old, modified, Lenco turntables, modified and manipulated in countless ways. But it has more in common with the anti-electronica of Pan Sonic or the early minimalism of Steve Reich, than to other experimental turntablists. Comes in a nice chipboard, gatefold digisleeve. Swiss import.
THE GUILT ØF... - 'The Guilt Øf...' LP (At War With False Noise)
Debut full-length from Mike Williams (Eyehategod, Arson Anthem) and Ryan McKern (Wolvhammer) after their recent split LP with Merzbow. This is very different to Mike's usual output and provides him with the perfect outlet for his singular, dark world view. Early industrial, punk, electro and noise are all references here and are tied together by Williams' distinctive vocal style. This is some very dark stuff and definitely has the feel of Eyehategod even though it's got a totally different sound. Reference points: (early) Skinny Puppy, Throbbing Gristle, Suicide, Head Of David. Equal parts primitive industrial, noise and punk; most certainly their most fully-realised recording to date by some way. Ltd x 250 copies on black vinyl.

CD reissue of Voxus Imp's 1998 LP. In classical Icelandic literature, 'Idafeld' is the symbol of the everlasting. At this place of renewal, the guiltless gods unite to strive towards Ragnarok (the twilight of the gods) once more. This 'ritual music' by Voxus Imp is largely purely electronic, but with a pleasant organic feel to it and sometimes nearly danceable rhythms. If the listener is searching for comparisons, look to Werkbund, Coil or Hybryds. The music from the vinyl edition has been edited and re-mastered with a bonus track. 6-panel digipak.
