For Greater Good FOR GREATER GOOD - 'For Greater Good' CD (None)

(2008) Self released debut from this Belgian act, who previously appeared on the Cold Meat Industry sampler "All My Dead Friends". The album consists of 10 songs (50+ minutes), ranging from Dark Ambient and Neoclassical towards a more Industrial sound. The theme of the songs is as varied as the sound; For Greater Good serves as a spectator towards life as it is. The CD is suited as a soundtrack for everyday life... the darker as well as the lighter moments. FGG uses a combination of synthesizers, samples, noises and acoustic instruments. Mastered by Daniel B. (Front 242). Recommended!

J Coleclough / A Liles / VinylLP JONATHAN COLECLOUGH & ANDREW LILES - 'Torch Songs' 2 x LP (Die Stadt)

Coleclough and Liles met in October 2004 when they both performed at Intergration 3 in Preston, UK. Liles subsequently reworked the recording of Coleclough's solo performance from that evening. He went on to add, subtract, multiply and divide further live recordings supplied by Coleclough, and the eventual result was this double LP. 'Torch Songs' is packaged in a heavy gatefold sleeve featuring 'I Dreamt I was a River', a poem composed and painted by Geoff Sawers during a performance with Coleclough in Geneva in March 2005. The sound of Geoff's brush painting this lettering can be heard on side B of 'Torch Songs.' Ltd x 300 only!

Marzuraan MARZURAAN - 'Five Years Worth Of Fuck All' CD (At War With False Noise)

Starting off from now and moving backwards through time to the early bedroom demo days, this CD shows Marzuraan's evolution from simplistic droning minimalism of the two bass lineup to the full-on rock beast of today. The album kicks off with a cover of Loop's "Afterglow", putting it through the post-Ginn blender and coming out with something great. The other cover here is a raging, lo-fi recording of Rollins Band's "Turned Inside Out". Bleak minimal droning walls of sound, controlled experiments into feedback and baws-out "post" rock. Presented in a six-panel chipboard sleeve, with stark black letterpress and clear varnish from Thumbprint Press.
