Between the fall of the Western Roman empire in A.D. 476 and the fall of Constantinople in 1453, Europe was ravaged by plagues and superstition. Greek was largely forgotten, and with it much of the learned texts of antiquity. 'A Chronicle of the Plague' is a musical tale of the terror of 1349, which depopulated entire villages and decimated Europe's human population; the disease was not understood at the time, and therefore it was assumed to have been the wrathful punishment from the Judaeo-Christian Deity. Fall Of The Grey-Winged One has been compared to Earth and Sunn O))), but with a bleak ambient orientation and minimalist industrial influences. If Sunn O))) were to play conversions of Wierzba's post-apocalyptic grimness and M87's icy, deep-space desolation, this is what they would sound like. Professional release of the enigmatic and limited 2002 recording.
