It is the tree of life, a complexity of meanings enlarged and enriched by the music of this CD. The music and lyrics on 'Fruits' are a means of initiation into the Northern mysteries. Patrick's powerful thunderous and sensitive backing music to Freya's spoken and chanted poetry and runecalls capture absolutely the elemental magick and energies of the Gods and Goddesses of the Norse mysteries and the shamanic energy of the Runes. The music ranges from conveying the maelstrom of a curse, to the delicate melodic harp tracery of a hymn of praise to Wotan. This CD goes two different of directions. 1st 4 tracks are live-without-audience recordings recorded with amplifiers and couple of good microphones. Painful and straight-forward power electronics with vocals. 2nd part of disc is studio recordings and this electronic-genius, known from Strom.ec, makes analogue synthesizers and other tools sound personal with his trademark style. (2007) I/CON is an exploration of religion as both a catalyst for mental illness and as a disease itself as well as the various manifestations of the resulting psychoses. These are the incessant screams of the pious and the possessed, of hypocrisy and holocaust, of resurrection and insurrection, of suffocating paranoia and immaculate deception and of a deified ego putrefying in its own fallacies. Using processed voices as a key aspect of the source material, I/CON shunts a maelstrom of auditory hallucinations and recurring apocalyptic nightmares through densely layered power electronics/industrial keeping the assault at fever pitch throughout the eleven tracks. Akrasia is an old question dealing with the weakness of the will. To behave "akratically" is when one acts against his better judgement, committing acts that are known to be wrong but yet still going through with the motion. Markus Lönebrink wanted to explore not so much the philosophical issues at hand, but rather the subjective experience of akrasia itself. To learn of the underlying motives of when one acts akratically. Certain events in the akratic process felt natural to him and it was those he tried to integrate into these soundscapes. There are no conclusions described in the music, but there might be a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel and perhaps the shadow of a hint of why we humans sometimes act as irrationally as we do. A shared quest to gain better knowledge of oneself through this self-revisionistic ambient journey filled with ethereally lush passages that give way to a truly visionary and immersive experience. Features a special collaboration with Pär Bostrom (Kammarheit), who also made the artwork for the textured gatefold sleeve.

Several tracks of slightly differing technique are just chilling, huge and deep...scary deep. Like the electrically-charged shade of Lustmord's 'Place Where The Black Stars Hang'. Monstrous. Somehow threatening. The previous SRF record, 'Nostromo' (CSR34CD) used the first few seconds of the film 'Alien' to create an expansive, chilling work of ambient. Here, the artist was living in a small flat in the UK with a heating/ac unit that was slowly breaking down, clogged with dust, slowly choking on it's own decay. Dead Weather Machine tells monstrous tales of things and places and feelings that it's common beginnings would never seem to suggest. But then imagine being as small as a piece of dust, trekking through some enormous, dying mechanical landscape, the sounds of world-sized storms swirling all around you. A microscopic entity, floating for ages through the channels and chambers of an enormous, dying machine, a machine that makes the weather for an entire world. A machine that is slowly dying.
