COCK E.S.P. / PANICSVILLE - 'Last Train To Cocksville' CD (Sunship Records / Little Mafia / Nihilist)
This tribute to 60's bubblegum gods The Monkees comes from a tag team blast of harsh electronic noise and Monkees-baiting cutup between Midwestern free-noise freaks Cock E.S.P. and Panicsville. Monkees tapes are slowed down skrew-style and looped, heavy bleats of burnt feedback squeal and electric currents are squeezed into your ear, grating noise sprouts from a wasteland of sonic detritus, obliterating the Monkees tunes into blots of near-unrecognizable splat with warped renditions of the original songs lyrics. The cover features Cock E.S.P.'s E.W. Hagstrom and Panicsville's Andy Ortmann dressed as train engineers hard at work on the tracks.

FUNERARY CALL - 'Dark Waters Stirred' CD (Fall Of Nature Records)
Heralded as one of the progenitors of black ambient music, Funerary Call (aka Harlow MacFarlane of Sistrenatus) returns from dormancy with his darkest release to date. "Dark Waters Stirred" is a ceremonial maelstrom of ominous electronics, doom-laden guitars and dark ambient textures. An audial descent into ritualistic obscurity and misanthropy. Features guest appearances from the likes of Deathlord (Blasphemy, ex-Conqueror), and Troy Southgate (H.E.R.R., Seelenlicht) amongst others. Australian import.

GNAW THEIR TONGUES - 'Per Flagellum Sanguemque, Tenebras Veneramus' CD (Crucial Blast)
Roughly translated as "with blood and whip, we worship the dark", this is the latest collection of atrocities from Gnaw Their Tongues. An eight song investigation into the rites and rituals that emerge from the copper-scented frenzy of the serial killer, the obsessive acts of death worship enacted by those that live on the edge of abyss, the limits of experience sought by black cults. The sound is, as always, immensely heavy, with fractured drums and thunderous tympani skins reverberating within a maelstrom of seething black doom, screeching classical strings, horns, piano, and some of the most vomitous vocals imaginable. However, "Per Flagellum Sanguemque..." is marked by the most frenetic percussive attack that we have heard from Gnaw Their Tongues, with volleys of chaotic drumming, fractured blasts, and maniacally complex patterns. KRISTOFFER NYSTRÖMS ORKESTER - 'Overlook Hotel' CD (Malignant Records)
KNO is a collaborative project between Swedish industrial legend Peter Nystrom (Megaptera, Negru Voda), and Norwegian up and comer Kristoffer Oustad (V:28, Plague Machinery). Welcome to Overlook Hotel, where every room has a ghost, and every room has a story to tell. Travel the hallways and explore, as you venture into a cerebral musical state, where ghostly transmissions and hypnotic layers of surreal, ethereal atmospheres intersect with disembodied voices, clattering, furnace blasting percussion, and of course, healthy injections of true, old fashioned Death Industrial noise and sweeping doom, done in the best Scandinavian style. The pacing of the album is truly impeccable, flowing seamlessly from to track, as if moving from room to room in a hazy, dream state, the layering and cohesiveness on a whole nothing short of meticulous. 6-panel digifile.

Coming back with an all new album after more than 5 years the alter ego of Herbst9 delivers another outstanding soundtrack about radiological warfare and it's debris during the last century. SWT is like a massive energy spike with a surrounding maelstrom of machine noises, rhythms, interferences and electromagnetic waves. The complex arrangement of technical sounds creates a deadly atmosphere of fallout and devastated landscapes with an apocalyptic aura reflected by dissonant harmonies and deep shimmering ambient scapes. Presented in a 6 panel digipak. Mastered by Andreas Wahnmann (First Law).
Another release to celebrate 15 years of Megaptera! "Exended Chaos" consists of two old releases, "Near Death" and "Beautiful Chaos". "Near Death" (cassette, Sound Source 1991) was Megaptera's first official release and is the only release with all 3 members (Peter Nyström, Magnus Pettersson, Mikael Svensson). Using drum machine, various synths, movies, TV, radio and microphone they created a totally analogue and dirty death theme. On this CD, 3 bonus tracks are added from the same period. Get prepared for old school! "Beautiful Chaos" (MCD, Fever Pitch 1998), has been extended to 10 tracks. The extra material is the two classic tracks 'Shadowland' and 'Sodom' from the "Death Odors" compilation, the two tracks from the "In the Buchers Backyard" compilation, a bombastic remix of the apocalyptic 'Final Day' (by The Protagonist) and an extended version of 'Shadowland', remixed by Peter Nyström and Magnus Sundström. The sound of "Beautiful Chaos" is structured and heavy with an "end of the world" theme, using sampled and mixed sounds. Mastered by Magnus Sundström. Ltd x 500 hand-numbered copies in a stunning foldout digipak, with an embossed slipcase. Highly recommended!

NAVICON TORTURE TECHNOLOGIES - 'The Gospels Of The Gash' 2 x CD (Malignant Records)
The final and definitive 2CD release from NTT chronicles one man's journey into a world devoid of light or hope. This is a place where the air is alive with the stink of pain and the beating of great black wings. The two discs compile material from a slew of limited releases from 2005-2007, as well as newer tracks recorded specifically for this release. As a result, "The Gospels of the Gash" is unquestionably the most complete NTT recording to date and nothing short of a monumental achievement... a culmination of the best aspects of past releases combined into an epic odyssey of apocalyptic atmospheres, brutish frequencies, harrowing darkness, and razor sharp vocals. Includes collaborations with Cenotype, Fragment King, and M Slagle, Autoclav 1.1 and Covet. Isomer and Steel Hook Prostheses also made valuable contributions. Mastered by STROM.ec, and packaged in a DVD digipak with layout and artwork by Leech and Jorden Haley, this release is a fitting funerary rite for NTT.
