Amazing and unique debut CD of the Swiss Ur-Folk project Fräkmündt, born out of the idea to revive old sagas and nearly forgotten songs and atmospheres of the alpine regions of Switzerland. Performed in alemannic central-Swiss dialect, the songs on "Urbärglieder" simulate a journey through landscapes of the quaint regions of Switzerland. They let you chase through stormwinds with the wild hunt at mount Pilatus or stroll under the paintings of the danse macabre over the Spreuerbridge in Lucerne. One can meet the devil in the Schöllenen gorge and follow the alpine herdsmen during their sad walk down to the valleys in autumn. This is a special commemorative album featuring two dark and cosmic tracks: track one was recorded July 21 2011 in the best possible conditions; track two was recorded July 23 2011 in a state of shock. On July 22 2011 the Utøya massacre happened in Norway. This album is dedicated to the memory of those who died. All music performed live on modular synthesizer, no overdubs or processing added. Threatening new collaboration taking in parallel worlds of Extreme Computer Music and Black Metal. KTL is Stephen O'Malley (Sunn O))), Gravetemple, Æthenor, Thorr's Hammer) and Peter Rehberg (PITA). A six part collision amongst the increasingly fading presences between the light and the dark. This work came about as the two were composing sound and music for a piece by Gisèle Vienne and Dennis Cooper, entitled 'Kindertotenlieder'. This CD is NOT the soundtrack to said piece, but a separate project. However, elements may appear in the finished piece which is to be premiered in Brest, France, March 2007. Pieces were recorded in a resistance fortress in southern France during a thunderstorm. Others in a wintergarden drenched in the sunlight.

LETHE - 'Nowhere' CD (A5 Production)
Lethe is a one-man Dark Ambient / atmospheric project by StormChild from Kiev. With very occult, dark and obscure apocalyptic ambient music, "Nowhere" captures the cold, dead atmosphere of the ghost town of Tschernobyl. 8 tracks and around 43mins of music in a DVD case with professional artwork by Dmitry Mayatsky. Ukrainian import. Not to be confused with the Japanese minimalist composer of the same name.
Duality is at once sacred and playful. It is both dark and light, organic and refined, masculine and feminine. Dead Can Dance's Lisa Gerrard partners with Pieter Bourke, formerly of Aussie band Eden, to create this compositional dance of partnership that is classical, ancient, and thoroughly modern. Gerrard's voice is multi-tracked at times, conjuring a cathedral choir and the droning chants of monks. Drums and synth snake from desert to brilliant stormy sky to shaking earth and the bodies that inhabit those spaces. There are lush multiple layers of strings, bagpipe drone, and, quite literally, the laughter of children. The vocals sans "real" words and multicultural instrumentation will be familiar to Dead Can Dance listeners. Yet there is something more exclusive, more womb-like about the music of Bourke and Gerrard; rather than two distinct bodies making music, like mother and in utero child sharing blood and breath, they are mutually dependent.

Composing late into the night, watching the heavy snowfall, was the inspiration for these tracks, and the feeling of being lost in some remote cabin, safe but warm, with good food and drink, staring out at the depths of winter snow that covers the land. These crystalline soundscapes take us from the cold winter nights, then out towards the bleakness of space.
