Pagan-Doom Folk-Metal with strong and heroic German lyrics and many Medieval elements. All songs on this album were recorded between 1993 and 2000. The CD includes the final Soulsearch release: the 10" 'Iherno' (2000), which was limited to only 100 copies. The other songs are a fine selection from their early albums, plus one unreleased track. After they split in 2001, two ex-Soulsearch founded Our Survival Depends On Us, whilst another member, Haju, is a founding member of Sturmpercht.
"Wilde Jaeger" is a unique compilation of Alpine Folk Music, Pagan Ritual Music and authentic field-recordings from the darkest woods and deepest valleys to the highest peaks of the sacred Central-European Alps, as well as of other pagan and alpine regions in Europe and the USA. A tremendous list of artists have participated here: A Minority Of One, Allerseelen, Elli Riehl, Ernte, Fanes, Foresta Di Ferro, Haberfeld, Hamramr, Heiliges Licht, Hekate, Jägerblut, Jahrtal, Magdalena, SagenToeterRiharcSmilesTrollFerd, Sangre Cavallum, Scivias, Soulsearch, Sturmpercht, Svarrogh, Teatro Satanico, The Joy Of Nature, Thelema, Waldteufel and Werkraum. "Wilde Jaeger" is also the first part of "Men, Masks & Myth", which is a audio-visual project of Sturmpercht and friends, bringing alpine mythology and alpine paganism to a (world)wide audience. "Wilde Jaeger" is accompanied by an astonishing 24-page booklet, housed in a highest-quality 6-sided digipak with cover paintings by Markus Wolff (Waldteufel). Utterly essential!
