(2007) A 28 minute-set of all new music by Fear Falls Burning (a VidnaObmana project), exploring the darker and nihilistic regions of drone music. Minimal repetitive motives which slowly evolve and expand into two unsettling harmonies of minor and solitude. The sounds vary from gritty, dirty guitar loops to long sonic landscapes with dense walls of sound. With no overdubs or post-production effects involved, the compositions progress in an organic and natural way, giving the music a special feeling and soul that is missing from many recordings these days. CD re-issue of the first instalment in the "Cosmic Debris" split ART-LP series. This volume sees My Cat Is An Alien (Maurizio and Roberto Opalio) alongside Text Of Light (Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth, Alan Licht, DJ Olive, Ulrich Krieger and Tim Barnes). Text Of Light's track was recorded live at Centre Georges Pompidou in 2003 and mixed in dual mono by Ranaldo & Licht in NYC. MCIAA's piece is a conceptual ouverture to the whole series, performed in April 2006 at their secret recording space called Alien Zone, located up the Italian Western Alps. Moraines II is a radical re-working of the limited release Moraines. The original recordings have been augmented, re-worked and newly mixed into an entirely different piece of music.
