ATOMINE ELEKTRINE - 'Archimetrical Universe' CD (Eternal Pride Productions)
2009 remixed version of "Archimetrical Universe" (1999, Yantra Atmospheres) from the project of Peter Andersson (Raison D'Etre, Necrophorus, Stratvm Terror). This album showcases Peter's dissection of the sky, birthing massive, geometrically perfect sonic diversions, burnished metal dreams and pristine sonic caresses that reconfigure sound into smooth surfaces. To counterbalance the exactness of the sonic development, light rhythms emerge, huge slabs of disrupting tones puncture... The clarity of production and meticulous restructuring of the known with the unknown only heightens this alluring venture into the cavernous realm of space. Intoxicating, mind-altering sound manipulations that inspire one's imagination with conflicting emotional responses at all times. Ltd x 1000 copies with 3 bonus tracks taken from the "Nebulous" boxset bonus disc (Essence Music).

BAD SECTOR - 'CMASA' CD (Power & Steel / Loki Foundation)
In 2005 Massimo Magrini was invited to provide a soundtrack for the M3M art exhibition in Pisa, Italy. The exhibition was based around images of the seaside and river estuary of Pisana area with CMASA airplane factory built there in it's centre. The marvelous seaside scenery mixed with vintage industrial locations, created an unexpected but amazing, nostalgic mood. To sculpture a soundtrack of this scenery Magrini also added treated piano, snippets of acoustic guitars, water sounds and metal samples. This may sound unusual for a BAD SECTOR release but all those new elements are perfectly blended into massive and ambient soundwaves, making CMASA probably the most emotional album of Massimo Magrini to date. All initial exhibition sounds where regenerated, remastered and re-assembled during 2007-2009. Digipak.
BAD SECTOR - 'Chronoland' CD (Power & Steel / Loki Foundation)
This new album of Massimo Magrini is the soundscape for a mind movie and another masterpiece that picks up where the previous work "CMASA" left off. 12 beautifully crafted chapters of music segueing between morphing layers of thick drones, haunting melodies and crackling vocal transmissions. "Chronoland" unfolds a fascinating and cinematic atmosphere of frightening ambient melodica with dark soundwaves deeply embedded in the music and bursts of electro-acoustic effects. This release is another step forward into the sound cosmos of Massimo Magrini with new directions but always in the unique way of Bad Sector. Comes in a 6-panel outsize digisleeve.
BAD SECTOR - 'The Harrow' CD (Ewers Tonkunst / Indiestate Distribution)
Reissue of the 2001 release (Ltd x 584 copies, AVA/ES1-Reset) from this Italian legend. Maybe the most dark and obscure work of Bad Sector, this is an absolutely brilliant masterpiece of anxious claustrophobic dark ambient with a touch of radio noise, digital Geiger counter sounds and some sparks of subtle melodic threads, inspired by Kafka's work. BRAIN DONOR - 'Drain'd Boner' CD (Invada)
This album showcases 5 tracks of abandoned sludge trudge - a brutal mix of post punk style, No Wave and free proto-metal. If you enjoy music which evokes the sound of overly caffeined baby elephants slopping about in oily puddles, that have formed outside a former Soviet chemical factory, then this is the album for you. Formed in 1999 and fronted by bass player / singer Julian Cope and guitarist Doggen, the most dramatic change in the sound comes from new drummer Mr E, whose punctuating style of drumming echoes Sabbath's Bill Ward and Grand Funk's Don Brewer. This places greater emphasis on the rhythm section, in places even adding elements of brutal stop/start skank in the Jah Wobble period PIL tradition. File next to Comets On Fire. Comes with a slipcase.

Sections of track 6 recorded in the studio for electro acoustic music at the arts academy of Berlin. "A three-track EP which belches out some of the most ghost-ridden, wasted, slow and obnoxious guitar punk rock you could ever hope to hear outside of that sector of Hades reserved exclusively for rock stars maudits. Astonishingly, these coarse and corruptive anthems of caustic horror all seem to have begun life as cover versions, including one of a Hank Williams song. DIETER MUH / MNEM - 'Atomyriades' CD (Cipher Productions)
The UK's Dieter Muh (Dave Uden alone this time) manipulates Finland's MNEM. "Solid collaborative effort between these known, but still some what obscure groups, delivering 8 tracks of dark, abstract atmospheres, with an array of layered, slightly organic sounds and processed manipulations; unknown insectile noises (of a larger variety I might add), sub-aquatic, droney washes, and deep rhythmic pulsations, with a dash of industrial clutter thrown in. Quite active and constantly in motion, allowing this to work very well as background music, or with headphones to pick up the multiple nuances and ultra-hypnotic qualities. DISSECTING TABLE - 'Ultra Materials 1986 - 1991' 2 x CD (Steinklang)
Dissecting Table is one of the most influential Noise artists from the early Japanese Industrial years. The first Dissecting Table recordings are quite unique in the Japanese Industrial scene, as the band was working with very concrete rhythms and screaming voices. The only comparisons to early Dissecting Table recordings might be the legendary albums of Grim and White Hospital. This set contains the A-side of the first 7" (Ultimate Psychological Description, 1986), the first LP (Ultra Point Of Intersection Exist, 1987), the first CD (Between Life And Death, 1990), all compilation tracks up to 1991 and even an unreleased track from 1986. This 2 CD-set is a milestone for Noise addicts and it's one of the most essential works in Noise music in general! Ltd x 500 copies.
'Saddharma' is a very intense Experimental Industrial-Noise orgy, lasting over nearly 32 minutes. On this brilliant track, the mastermind of the Japanese Noise pioneers Dissecting Table, Ichiro Tsuji, combines different rhythmic old school elements, experimental sounds and very dark / aggressive vocals, that remind of the band's early years. After the mysterious Japanese Power-Noise band White Hospital split up into Grim and Vasilisk, the new band released 3 fantastic LPs in 1987-89, which became some of the most wanted records in the collector's scene. After more than 20 years, Tomo Kuwahara (Vasilisk) is back with the same amazing Ritual Music as before! 4 lengthy new tracks recorded from 2010-2011. Ltd x 500 copies in a slimline DVD case.

FJERNLYS - 'Ascending Triads & Luminous Arcs’ 2 x CD (Loki Foundation)
Behind this project hides one of Inade's masterminds - Knut Enderlein. On this first disc, the songs layer cosmic and synthetic sounds and go on tracing according to the principle harmony in the music, their acoustic space feeling very expansive. The voices creep crosswise into sounds and effects to lunar spheres and solar places. The five remixes and interpretations of ANTLERS MULM, BAD SECTOR, FIRST LAW and LOVESPELL on the second disc support the complex character of the whole release and expand the into a new style of Ambient songs. More 'song' based than Inade, Fjernlys reminds of fellow Loki act Predominance. Presented in a double jewel case with a very nice slipcase to finish.
GRUNTSPLATTER - 'The Eulogists Assembly' CD (Eibon Records)

Luperci is a drone based noise project from Albuquerque, New Mexico. 'The Holy Mountain' is an epic and introspective piece that oscillates between quiet, hypnotic drone and trance inducing, crushing wall of sound. 'The Holy Mountain' is about the human drive towards enlightenment and is largely influenced by the path of the Aghori Sadhus - a sect of Hindu ascetics who believe everything is sacred and nothing is profane. As part of their spiritual journey, they live alone in cremation grounds, carry a begging bowl made from a human skull, and wear cremation ashes. The extreme nature of their practice and their intense desire for the union with the divine was a major point of inspiration for the album. Each sleeve was printed by Luperci's Joseph Angelo and includes an insert. This vinyl-only release is a hand numbered, limited edition of 100 copies only. ACT FAST!
MACHINEFABRIEK - 'Veldwerk' CD (Cold Spring CSR156CD)
Sublime drone music and field recordings by Rutger Zuydervelt. 'Slovensko I & II' are best seen as a travel diary, recorded in Slovakia. RZ made 'sound snapshots' with a small digital recorder. A major influence both while recording and assembling the tracks was Chinese sound artist Yan Jun. 'Rusland' is a sound collage comprising field recordings and sections of live performances made in Russia. An incredible adventure and culture shock with long train journeys, bizarre venues and amazing people. 'The Breaking Water' can be heard as a sonic portrait of Rotterdam's famous Erasmus bridge. It includes recordings taken from both on and beneath the bridge, along with further sounds from the river that it crosses, the Nieuwe Maas. 'Floor & Radio' is a contrast to the outdoor pieces recorded for the the installation 'Licthung' in Radolfzell, Germany. Contrasted against the outdoor silence was the squeaking floor in the guest house and the distorted signal and static from the radio. Sometimes there's music in everything. Makino Takashi asked RZ to perform a score for his film 'In Your Star'. After a screening in Tokyo, a studio version was recorded. The result is 'Apollo', a sonic journey to space and beyond. Digipak.
MATT SHOEMAKER - 'Tropical Amnesia One' CD (Ferns Recordings)
"More field recordings here, this time around taken from the Amazonas, Brazil, to precise the Mamori Lake. Shoemaker taped the sounds there and treats the whole thing into one piece of music that lasts 64 minutes. If I was to imagine how the Amazonian rainforest would sound like, I think it would sound like this. A fairly thick mass of busy buzzing insect sounds, birds and wind like sounds. Shoemaker opts for a dramatic approach in this work: things start out relatively quiet and moody, but over the course of those 60 some minutes grows with some violent intention. Shoemaker uses strong equalisation, adding low end sounds to the piece, that makes the earth tremble among the heavy weight of this piece. Yet he never loses the clarity of the sounds, birds and insects are always to be recognised here. An excellent piece along the lines of the best of Francisco Lopez (who organises the annual Mamori Sound Project. Shoemaker delivers a great work, perhaps his best so far" (Vital Weekly). In spiraling his manipulated field recordings as a slow revelation of the environmental sonorities that undeservedly go unnoticed each and every day. Singing frequencies of a bowed piece of metal undulate against a grey tapestry of rain and rasping insects. The band's inspirations are Cult of Luna, Neurosis, Isis, Meatjack, Khanate, Nadja, Sunn O))), Halo. PUSSYGUTT - 'She Hid Behind Her Veil..' CD (20 Buck Spin)
Multi-instrumentalists Brittany McConnell Blake Green reside in the rural landscape outside of Boise, Idaho, where they create their dark, foreboding sounds away from the chaos of America’s large cities. "She Hid Behind Her Veil…", is comprised of a single track over 45 minutes in length. The sound occupies a dense space where the heavy, metallic drone sound of Black Boned Angel intersects with the minimalist string arrangements of Phillip Glass and the more ambient doom tendencies of Japan’s Corrupted. With its use of violin textures, the album sounds as much like a classical movement as an art-doom release. Draped in a cloak of gothic black doom ambiance and eerie, unsettling moods, "She Hid Behind Her Veil…" is an apparition of ghostly vision from one of America’s more isolated environments. Digipak. Pussygut changed their name to Wolvserpent in 2010.
Cyclic loops based on static drones, intersected by electronic frequencies algorithmic variations of undefined sonic materials, moved by delays and landscape perspective variations recurring in space, a sequence of metallic waves in a continuous tone variation, heavy dissonance sonic stratification in progressive and pseudo-random composition / decomposition; desolate silences corrupted by resounding echoes of evolving electric rhythmic impulses. Long awaited re-issue of this unbelievable album by Maurizio Bianchi / Sacher-Pelz and Sandro Kaiser / Amun Cell, previously only available on a limited release.

SCANNER & DAVID ROTHENBERG - 'You Can't Get There From Here' CD (Monotype Records)
Robin Rimbaud aka Scanner is a conceptual artist, writer, plasticien sonore and composer working in London, whose works traverses the experimental terrain between sound, space, image and form. Philosopher and musician David Rothenberg's music is inspired by the melodies and beats of birds, insects, whales, water, and wind, he blends spontaneous musical inventiveness with a sense of rhythm, exuberance, and listening to nature. Chilled out experiments augmented with spoken word, bass and clarinet. Gatefold ecopak.
Scott Hull (Pig Destroyer, Agoraphobic Nosebleed) has been gradually revealing another side of his musical persona over the past few years; an obsession with cinematic soundscaping and dark evocative film scores, mutant electronic textures and pitch-black isolationism. On this second Audiofilm 3" CD, Scott creates a much more frantic and energetic soundscape, this one alive with minimal bass-shuddering pulses and tone manipulations, layered swarms of insectile electronic chitter, swells of shadowy ambience, brain-melting plasma blasts, and vast tectonic drones. A brief but amazing dose of abstract dark ambient/noise that will appeal to fans of Bastard Noise, Astro, and freaked-out 70's sci-fi synth soundtracks. Ltd x 1000 copies in a mini gatefold sleeve with artwork from Seldon Hunt.
"Auctoritas" is the next phase by Polish project Sect, backed up by Lukasz Maj. The powerful and orchestral instrumentation, which Sect is famous for, was enriched by Lukasz with new accents that have made Sect’s music ascend to a level higher. Sect offers 55 minutes - a long feast for fans who love dark and neoclassical sounds. Additionally, "Auctoritas" is both a derision and disdain for contemporary authorities that were magically covered with sounds. Digipak.

SKIN AREA - 'Rothko Field' CD (Malignant Records)
3rd full length release from this acclaimed Martin Bladh (IRM) project (in conjunction with Magnus Lindh), following two albums on Cold Meat Industry. Like previous works, "Rothko Field" is a visceral auditory experience... mind bending and turbulent sonic explorations that are grainy, abstract and tense, where uneasy frequencies intersect with caustic drones, insectile buzz, swelling drifts, and slow motion, percussion driven sludgery. "Rothko Field" is more structured than in the past, coming off as both spacious and yet suffocatingly claustrophobic, suggestive of a spiral downwards into mental decay and degradation, and further enhanced by Martin's uniquely distressed and provocative vocalizations. 9 tracks in total, broken into two "mirrored parts", with track 5, "Void" acting as the actual mirror itself. TRIORE - 'Three Hours' CD (Cold Meat Industry / Eternal Soul)
This fairytale started to unravel with the release of Triarii’s "Piece Heroique", as Christian Erdmann (Triarii) and Tomas Pettersson (Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio) gave birth to the track "Roses 4 Rome". Both participants go beyond themselves, but TriORE is nonetheless the embodiment of all that which is Triarii, and all that which is Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio. The bombastic touch of Triarii is still there; the string sections, the choirs, the martial drums and much more; alongside the eloquence of Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, musically, melodically, as well as lyrically. This is what all lovers of both bands have been waiting for, a complete forty minutes of Art Deco Industrial Pop. Super jewelcase.

URE THRALL - 'Arabian Nightmares' CD (Tesco Organisation)
"Arabian Knightmares" is one man's effort to reflect the unfolding events of the current worldwide sectarian war in a series of harmonic constructs, utilising actual sounds from the major events of the struggle (9/11, the Iraq War, etc.) to provide a historic point of reference. The forlorn yet beautiful emotions that are unmistakable in Muslim song and prayer are reflected here in a context so unique that it is deeply stirring in a musical sense and simultaneously brutal with its emotional impact on the listener. Guest appearances from 23 Skidoo, Ferrara (Brain) Pan and The Fruitless Hand. Comes in a special die-cut card box folder with 8 postcards.

VIDEL - 'D'Monique Velsmord' CD (Section XIII COMA)
A 65-minute long meditative-ritual-drone-ambient mantra performed during three nocturnes 29 May - 1 June 2009. "...one is caressed by atmospheric waves of isolation, synchronized with death rattling drones against the static silence... Drones of anguish with bleak undertones of death pierce through the remnants of mania: an empty void liberating forgotten grief to entomb the listener in an aching trance, to reminisce in sorrow... D’Monique Velsmord embodies the essence of grief, a melancholic funeral dirge embracing the bleeding hues of emotion in isolation; the serenity in solitude…" (Ellamorte). VOMIR & TORBA - 'Unstable Geometry' 7" (At War With False Noise / Swollen Avantgarde / Aaltra Records / Underground Pollution / Suoni Grezzi / Nhdiystrec)
Collaborative effort between Torba of Italy and French harsh noise wall legend Vomir. On the first side Torba takes the fore: his scraping metal trash collapses down Vomir's crumbling static walls. Torba has a HNW-approach to his noise in that the sounds on here don't really go anywhere; it ends abruptly just as it came in. The second side has the harsh Vomir wall really to the fore, with piercing insect noise scraping away at it constantly. A top HNW collaboration! Ltd x 325 copies with a screenprinted sleeve.

WEIHAN - 'Symphonies Of Divination' CD (Old Europa Cafe)
The 2nd album of this very promising project from the medieval lands bordering the cold North Sea, Flanders (North-Belgium). Dramatically straying from the neofolk path of their debut album “Galder”, “Symphonies of Divination” offers dark and bombastic compositions with clear references to Slavonic, German and Scandinavian classical music. Heavy percussion, assiduous spiccato string sections, dramatic horn accents and haunting choirs form the backbone of this album. The cold and eerie narrative vocals enhance the grim atmosphere of the music even further. The lyrics, mainly in English but with hints of Dutch, Old-Norse and Swedish, are devoted to Indo-Germanic religion, myth and legend, the Nietzschean spirit and relentlessly attest to the grotesque decline of the modern world. Ltd x 540 copies in a digipak with booklet.
