The Silk Road is a series of trade and cultural transmission routes connecting the East and West by linking traders, merchants, pilgrims, monks, soldiers, nomads and urban dwellers from China to the Mediterranean Sea during various periods of time. Many artistic influences travelled along the Silk Road, especially through the Central Asia, where Hellenistic, Iranian, Indian and Chinese influences were able to intermix. Despartica is a collection of impressions, situations and moments in life. The particular parallel between lyrics based on old poetry (Blake, Yeats, Rosetti etc), and all that happens nowadays, often creates an atmosphere of bitter reflection and irony. Desires, beliefs, dreams, emotions, experiences, the beauty of life and the sight of inevitable death in 19th and 20th Century poems "framed" by varied music - from strong industrial rhythms to romantic ballads with melancholic recitations and singing. Guest vocals from Reinhard Hopfe (Stahlwerk 9). Very different to the usual Rukkanor sound! Digipak.
