"Fabrication 2" is the sequel to "Fabrication", the first collaboration between Richard Chartier and Asmus Tietchens released in 2007 (Die Stadt). Whereas for the first collaboration the idea developed from the project around reinterpretations of Chartier's "Postfabricated", this time the efforts were directly focused on the reinterpretation of specific basic sound material. This material can be found on the first disc of "Prefabrication 2", which was constructed by Richard Chartier alone in Montreal and Washington, DC. "Fabrication 2" is the reworking of this sonic basis by Asmus Tietchens. Whereas the first CD has traces of subtle dematerialised rhythmic structures, the second disc is a study in minimalism and concentrated sound manipulation. Ltd x 500 copies in a gatefold digifile, with original artwork by Richard Chartier.

The 13th installment in the "Kapotte Muziek by..." series. Chartier's piece takes original recordings of KM from a concert at Garage Festival, Stralsund (August 2004). A quiet, 20-minute low drone piece, with little change. More diversity and adventure comes in with the four tracks by Boca Raton (Martijn Tellinga), who reworks original recordings from a KM concert at Smart Space, Amsterdam (March 2003). Minimal ambient vs atmospheric microsounds, with gentle sensibilities of musique-concrete, electro-acoustics and suchlike.
