Arditi ARDITI - 'Marching On To Victory' CD (Equilibrium Music)

(2007) Originally released in 2003 by Svartvintras Productions in an edition of 1000 copies. The legacy that one half of the project brought from his work with Puissance was fairly evident, yet the focus on his work as Arditi was not so much beautifully orchestrated narrations of the apocalypse, but far grimmer depictions of the past centuries world conflicts. Field recordings and speeches were incorporated into Arditi's compositions, adding a disturbing tone to the predominant military snare-drums, symphonic arrangements and hypnotic soundscapes. The suffocating combination between Martial Industrial, classical arrangements and sombre atmospheres would set Arditi's debut album as one of the bleakest releases on the Militaristic Neoclassical movement. "Marching on to Victory" is now made available again, in a deluxe black with silver print digipak, featuring 2 bonus tracks.

Arditi ARDITI - 'Omne Ensis Impera' CD (Equilibrium Music)

(2008) The highly anticipated new album by the Swedish duo (Henry Möller of Puissance and Marten Björkman) is finally upon us. The sense of determination that echoes through their music and which has brought them to the forefront of Martial / Industrial Neo-Classical scene has stayed untouched. “Omne Ensis Impera” introduces an additional strength to Arditi’s compositions - epic orchestral loops and thunderous percussions are granted a more prominent role, stirring the damp and suffocating ambiance that the duo have always produced so well with their use of ominous synths, obscure speeches and mesmerizing narrations. “Omne Ensis Impera” could well be a modern interpretation of the Futurist’s goal of glorifying warfare to an artistic expression beyond its inherent violence and intrinsic sense of heroism. Mastered by Kamrat Nordvargr (Mz.412, Toroidh etc), who also contributed to additional arrangements on a couple of tracks. Presented in a deluxe glossy Digipak, with embossed artwork.

Arditi ARDITI - 'Standards Of Triumph' CD (Equilibrium Music)

(2006) Boasting the unique personality of Swedish combo H. Möller (Puissance) and M. Björkman, "Standards of Triumph" taps further into the darker tones of Militaristic Neoclassical ambiance that has become the band's trademark, resulting in their strongest effort so far - ever effective in their use of crushing orchestrations and evocative speeches, Arditi hereby drags the listener around muddy trenches, leaving aside overly pompous festive marches or alcohol fuelled merry bunker songs which seem to have become the norm as of late, and casting an hypnotizing veil over the turmoil of warfare-inspired Industrial soundscapes. Digipak.

Blakagir BLAKAGIR - 'Carpathian Art Of Sin' CD (Pulverised Records)

(2007) BLAKAGIR is the epic Medieval / Neoclassical war music solo project of L.O.N.. Anyone that has heard of his main project Hellveto's Pagan Black Metal masterwork, "In The Arms Of Kurpian Phantom", will want to pick this up immediately, since the similarities are certainly there. However the difference is that Blakagir is not Metal but epic synthesized Neoclassical hymns, similar to Gae Bolg or Puissance. As with their previous release, "Nostalgia", don't let the 'Metal' artwork fool you! Presented in a sumptuous glossy 8-panel digipak. Very nice piece! Singapore import.

Der Blaue Reiter DER BLAUE REITER - 'Silencis' CD (Caustic Records)

(2008) The long awaited second album of Der Blaue Reiter. More apocalyptic than ever, Sathorys Elenorth and Lady Nott (Narsilion) are back with a new chapter of darkness and sadness, in hands of an uncertain destiny where human being shines under the last days of its tormented existence and in world surrender under the most absolute madness. Decadence and death, sin and desolation are the keys which guide us through forgotten ambiences where the martial holds the reins of our sad reality. Our future dawn deconstruction has already begun, now you just decide when die. Presented in a beautiful 6-panel digipak. Reminds of Ordo (Rosarius) Equilibrio or Puissance in its most apocalyptic places.

Infestation INFESTATION - 'Bastion Untouchable' CD (War Office Propaganda / Rage In Eden)

(2008) Infestation is the martial industrial act of Louis Carrier. The act is best defined by its burning orchestral textures and its violent percussion that give rhythm and life to combative vocal clamours. Evoking subjects concerning the fight for subsistence of cultural heritage, the project covers the unending determination of the minority French-speaking people of Québec that survives through centuries of assimilation and gives the clear indication that struggling is never vain. The project is influenced by the like of Puissance, In Slaughter Natives, Triarii, The Protagonist, Across the Rubicon and Rome. 6-panel digipak.

Poets To Their Beloved POETS TO THEIR BELOVED - 'Embrace The Fool' CD (Equilibrium Music)

Debut from this German / Dutch duo who conquered physical distance through proximity of hearts.Their first opus gathers 13 songs, written over the four year period that followed since the duo's first meeting in Ireland, when Saskia Dommisse and Marcel Schiborr travelled there to attend a Brendan Perry workshop. On the verge of Neofolk, the album presents a unique atmosphere built on stringed instruments such as acoustic guitars, cello, violin and bass. Although a romantic tone is found throughout most of the disc, the compositions also often possess a ritualistic essence where male and female voices rise webbed to the pulsating percussions. Singing of love, loss, forlorn tales and old rituals, Saskia and Marcel invite us into the bleak forest of their soul, where an uncharacteric sense of optimism shines through the treetops to shed some light upon the shady path. Released in a beautiful digipak, including a 12 page booklet with all lyrics.

Proscenium PROSCENIUM - 'Behind The Curtain' CD (Memento Mori / Dark Vinyl)

New project of Swedish musician Anders Calderon (Mortaur), influenced by composers and artists spanning from Beethoven and Brahms, Devil Doll and Lycia to the work of Arcana, Aghast and Puissance. In a world of mistrust and hostility, where things that don't really matter seem more important than anything, what is hidden behind the curtain? With the dark ambient roots still audible but with added vocals and more emphasis on neo-classical instrumentation the exploration of human reason and fears in the 21st century continues.

Puissance PUISSANCE - 'Back In Control' CD (Equilibrium Music)

Following the awe-inspiring debut "Let Us Lead", Puissance would return a couple of years later to unleash "Back In Control", a cynical tribute to human evolution and how such evolution inevitably seems to dictate the end of the World and mankind's own extinction. The impending man-made apocalypse which Söderlund obsessively narrates is superbly illustrated by epic martial compositions, to which the pace is set by loud marching drums and Industrial percussion. A compelling work of art, that would bring Industrial music to a new climax, thanks to the glorious Neoclassical arrangements that Puissance have developed for the album. Originally issued via Cold Meat Industry, this rare classic is now finally made available again. "Back In Control" has been remastered and enhanced with one bonus track. Deluxe digipak edition with embossed cover.

Puissance PUISSANCE - 'Grace Of God' CD (Equilibrium Music)

Three years after "State Collapse", the cogwheels of the Puissance warmachine have been fine-tuned and put to work again, in a crushing motion that seems to be as defiant and innovative as ever. Musically, "Grace Of God" could well be referred to as a re-definition of the over-abused "Martial-Pop" term, yet Puissance's own superior combination of sumptuous Neoclassical and Industrial elements raises any potential Pop anthem to an entirely distinct level. More melodic and vocal-oriented than before, this latest opus also comes to expose a more rhythmic approach that had been hinted at in previous releases, but which has now morphed into a powerful and relentless driving force in Söderlund and Möller's compositions. Compellingly militant and beautifully apocalyptic, "Grace of God" finds Puissance in top form. Includes an encrypted bonus track! Presented in a stunning spot-varnished, matt digipak. Highly recommended!

Puissance PUISSANCE - 'Mother Of Disease' CD (Equilibrium Music)

Reissue of Puissance's 1999 album. With the Industrial rust of early days properly polished, the Swedish duo would further explore their talent for graceful arrangements set to Militaristic Neo-Classical music. Following the overtly confrontational offerings of "Let Us Lead" and "Back In Control", Puissance were now set to resurrect the ghosts of Cold War and the obsession with all things thermonuclear that haunted the planet - the Mother of Disease, as they would call it - over that period. Brooding hymns to suicidal heroism, devotional praises to a new god that would finally bring closure to the human race, the screeching of metal twisting and melting - all of this would find its place in Puissance's own beautiful vision of the impending apocalypse, that they so ingeniously depict on "Mother of Disease". This fine collection, it has been re-mastered and enhanced with one bonus track, presented in a matte-blue deluxe digipak edition.
