(2006) Alio Die’s magnum opus on vinyl for the first time. Released on his own label Hic Sunt Leones (1992) and re-released by Projekt (1993), this is a milestone of ritual ambient music. Ghostly incantations from the void, subtly changing frequencies and moods. Dream-inducing atmospheres and introspective drones. Stefano Musso has managed to resurrect unsettling sounds from a pre-Middle Ages epoch and merge them into a pastiche of gripping, evocative pastures for the discerning Ambient fan. (2008) Arcana's approach to Neoclassical and symphonic ethno-ambient could well be defined in the meaning of the word "Arcana" itself: specialised knowledge of something generally considered a mystery or a secret. On their 6th album, "Raspail", the powerfully moving music of this Swedish quintet creates a magical atmosphere which weaves together lush elements familiar to Arcana fans old and new. "All Mine Enemys..." is a haunting brew of Dark Ambient soundscapes and Neoclassical strings, based on Britain's greatest female mass murderer, Mary Ann Cotton, executed in 1873. (2005) Here Belgian artist Vidna Obmana reinvents himself under a new persona with his Fear Falls Burning debut. This double CD succeeds in uncovering a new language that stretches time and brings the listener to the edge multiple times, entrancing with the repetitive yet pure sonic presence of the electric guitar. The result could be compared to contemporary drone & minimal ambient acts like Fuxa, Sonic Boom, Experimental Audio Research, Growing and even Sunn O))) with sounds that vary from gritty dirty guitar loops to long sonic landscapes with dense walls of sound.

Stalaggh's final masterwerk "Projekt Misanthropia" can certainly be called a progression from the earlier and already realised Stalaggh sound. For the non-believers it will all start to make sense about 5 minutes into this hopelessly pessimistic journey. Stalaggh utilise traditional instruments into their "recipe" and one can decipher from such inflection points less than harmonious guitar that certainly does nothing to bowdlerize the formula Stalaggh have commanded forth.
