"Rauhe Schale" ('Rough Shell') is the brand new album from Austrian legends Allerseelen, which fascinates musically as well as visually. Everything moves and flows in a field of force between industrial, metal, folklore and pop. ÀRNICA is a Barcelona based project. The artist's interests are deep rooted in the ancient Iberian culture and traditions. Their music is a mix of traditional Pyrenees Folk and heathen Battle / Hunting songs. Their first full length album is a tale narrated by an old man as his last legacy to a casual traveller. In a hut and near by fire the traveler will be the depositor of ancient knowledge about forgotten gods, wisdom of life, tradition and statements of war. All lyrics and singing is in Spanish or Catalan. A wide range of instruments is used, on top of them accordion, guitars, drums and flutes. ÀRNICA play 100% Alpine Folk, creating wild and rural atmospheres, quite similar to their friends from STURMPERCHT, but just from the opposite part of the holy Alps. Digipak.
Dedicated to the Goddess Perchta, this 4-track release is based on recordings of traditional Perchtenläufe and nature. Different than most other music from Belborn this release (as one would expect being on Steinklang’s ‘Bavarian’ side-label), is more in the way of traditional German folk music. DANNAGOISCHD - 'Emm Discda Ondrholz' Enhanced CD (Percht)
Dânnâgôischd (the ghost of the dark forest) is a project coming directly out of the deep Alpine and Swabian woods. "Emm Dichdâ Ondrholz" (in the dense brush-wood) features 16 tracks of Alpine Forest Folk, telling tales in ancient Swabian language about creatures living in darkest woods, with all their legends, atmospheres and myths. The atmosphere spreads between melancholy, tradition and pure forest life. Dreamy songs are mixed with dark and natural (sound)tracks, as well as with more folky tunes. Amazing and unique debut CD of the Swiss Ur-Folk project Fräkmündt, born out of the idea to revive old sagas and nearly forgotten songs and atmospheres of the alpine regions of Switzerland. Performed in alemannic central-Swiss dialect, the songs on "Urbärglieder" simulate a journey through landscapes of the quaint regions of Switzerland. They let you chase through stormwinds with the wild hunt at mount Pilatus or stroll under the paintings of the danse macabre over the Spreuerbridge in Lucerne. One can meet the devil in the Schöllenen gorge and follow the alpine herdsmen during their sad walk down to the valleys in autumn. The album is alternated by two sound-accentuated sagas and two atmospheric pieces, letting one share the horrors of the ghost-house in Stans and the mythical ambiance inside the Mondmilchloch cave. On "Urbärglieder" acoustic guitars, accordion, violin, flutes and various percussion instruments generate melancholic melodies full of nostalgia, but also rousing hymns which invite to dance. "Uufwärts e d’Föuse" (Upward to the rocks) is a conceptual album which takes the listener on an imposing musical journey to untouched Alpine areas. As on "Urbärglieder" all tracks are presented in the typical Fräkmündt Central-Swiss alemannic dialect. After an "Alp-Blessing" ("Aupsääge"), the journey upwards is visualised using acoustic guitars, accordion, drums, hurdy-gurdy melodies and flute. The nighttime track “Höttehock” is a swinging and wild traditional dancing track with a catchy accordion melody and nice acoustic guitars. The last track "Stouz ond frey" (proud and free) is a devotional and powerful song with profound hurdy-gurdy, rhythmic guitar melodies and catchy accordion tunes. The MCD ends with a Dark Alpine Ambient track called "Bärgtröim" (Mountain Dreams) which smoothly leads the listener back to the valley. "Wskrzeszenie" ("Resurrection") is about the forgotten in the turbulent history of the past century. One of a kind, unique, magical, intriguing, 18th and 19th century folk songs and contemporary folk songs of Warmia (North-East Poland), sung in the dialect of the language of the now dead. This artist produces cultural music, combining elements of traditional folk, progressive folk-rock and contemporary music of Warmia, with the highest level of composition and execution. "Vorweltschweigen" is completely based on the lyrics and sounds of Sturmpercht, the legendary creators of Alpine Folk music. Pagan-Doom Folk-Metal with strong and heroic German lyrics and many Medieval elements. All songs on this album were recorded between 1993 and 2000. The CD includes the final Soulsearch release: the 10" 'Iherno' (2000), which was limited to only 100 copies. The other songs are a fine selection from their early albums, plus one unreleased track. After they split in 2001, two ex-Soulsearch founded Our Survival Depends On Us, whilst another member, Haju, is a founding member of Sturmpercht.
"A Wilde Zeit" is an anthology; an early-years collection of rare songs and long deleted vinyl from the inventors of Alpine Folk music. The CD includes most songs from early 2003 until late 2005 - all 7" vinyl, songs from the mLP "alpine Bann- und Segenssprüche" and several compilation tracks, as well as one unreleased song. Originally released in a limited edition of 100 copies in wooden case, this CD is now remastered and widely expanded. "A Wilde Zeit" drags You away into the dark forests around the holy mount Untersberg, with all his fairies and strange creatures.
