DEATH IN JUNE & BOYD RICE - 'Scorpion Wind' CD (NERUS / Soleilmoon)
(2007) Originally released in 1996 as Scorpion Wind's “Heaven Sent” CD / LP this album has long been considered the ‘lost’ classic collaboration between Death In June's Neofolk pioneer Douglas P. and Industrial music's renegade innovator Boyd Rice. Recorded in Australia prior to the pair starring in the cult film ‘Pearls Before Swine’, it is a unique, melodic and richly orchestrated ode to modern living, modern loving and modern hating. Joined by percussionist John Murphy (SPK, KnifeLadder) for the first of what was to prove many collaborations between the ‘Unregistered 3’ and young Australian group Strength Through Joy (now Ostara), these recordings proved to be the perfect follow up to 1990’s ground-breaking Boyd Rice & Friends album “Music, Martinis & Misanthropy”. Digitally remastered CD including two extra tracks from the era and stunning new artwork, presented in a red and black foil-blocked digisleeve.
H.E.R.R. - 'Vondel's Lucifer - First Movement' CD (Cold Spring CSR69CD)
(2006) Taken from the Dutch playwright's 17th century opus, 'Lucifer', this release tells of heavenly discontent amid a jealous tale of angelic rebellion in the face of God's love for humankind. Containing half-sung and spoken vocals, a gentle folk-like melody, baroque composition and rich musical arrangements, this album introduces the first three acts in 75 bombastic minutes. Guest appearances from members of Ostara, While Angels Watch, Belborn and Sagittarius.
Debut full length release from this English Neofolk act. Like a flag unfurling in the wind, this album shows strongly where their lineage comes from - the likes of Death In June, In the Nursery, Ostara and Dead Can Dance. Epic Neofolk / acoustic folk and melancholic militaristic beats draw us into an ancient world full of myths and legends. Choral ambiences re-affirm this connection with a more pagan heart and its closeness to nature.

OSTARA - 'Ultima Thule' CD (Eis & Licht)
Third album by English Folk-Wave act Ostara. Ultima Thule - in ancient times, the furthest point North. The land of the Midnight Sun and the Polar Night. A symbol of the highest and lowest states of being. Ultima Thule represents the realm of the extremities, the non plus ultra of existence. Whereas the previous Ostara album "Kingdom Gone", is characterised by its melancholic Wave Pop, there are some new, more rock oriented elements on "Ultima Thule".
