Irr. app. (ext.) is a project of Californian M.S. Waldron (recent live member of Nurse With Wound). "Kreiselwelle" ("Spiral Wave") is the third and final installment to a body of works composed under the influence of Wilhelm Reich, the unorthodox 20th Century psychologist. Waldron returns to the same collection of field recordings which began this trilogy; however, he restricted himself to those with spiralling origins: resonating springs, the ocean cyclically churning over pebbles on the beach, the wafting of air around various objects... A richly dark and oddly serene amalgamation. Nice artwork with spot varnishing.
Inspired by Nature comes the dark ambient project of Veselin Mitov. “Slow layers of synths as a background, Bulgarian bagpipes that make your soul soar, and Eastern Orthodox Church choirs drown you in a deep sorrow. In ancient Bulgarian language Kayno Yesno Slonce means “like a bright shining sun”.

Bearing most comparison to 'Grapes From The Estate', 'Triste' sees Ambarchi delving deep into electronically rendered drone ala SunnO))) / Earth. Yet where their work can at times smother through its sheer intensity, Ambarchi is careful to open the window and let a bit of fresh air in. From the opening digital creaks and chimes of 'Triste Part 1' through to the spiked ardour of 'Triste Part 2', Ambarchi takes increasingly familiar elements then sculpts them into something both bold yet eminently accessible. 4th album from the Spanish Avant-Doom trio. Like previous efforts, the new Orthodox album moves again towards a search of spirituality and the sense of innovation that is part of their music. This time the band has concentrated all its strength and sound imagery into these 5 pieces. The band explores its roots to leave behind the search for alterations in their musical language and the emerging psychedelic and progressive atmospheres that appeared in their previous work "Sentencia". This work sums up all the attributes picked by the band during their career, places them in a new starting point and gives them a spectacular projection because their sound and musical ideas have yet to travel far beyond. "Orthodox were a metal band once, but they have become much bigger. At this point, everything they have in common with doom music or any other style of metal music is the sense of spirituality and their search of catharsis through rites" (The Wire).
