"Night Forest Reality" describes "a world which does not exist in daylight, arising when the last dying beam of sunshine fades from dark shaggy branches of old trees, when air becomes damp and hearing sharpens. A constant feeling of someone's presence... From the impenetrable darkness in the heart of the wood, a cool wind forces leaves to tremble, hardly distinguishable in the twilight... a touch of cold air to the face, a suggestion of swaying branches, sparkling streams and the rustle of revived grass. Dew drops barely sparkle in the gloom, reflecting the stars blinking in bottomless moonless depth. The night wood, frightening and attracting, living an invisible life, populated by unfamiliar ancient beings. "When I’ve been asked to describe the Ice Age with an uninterrupted drone, I knew I wanted to avoid the cliches of the genre: dark rumblings, massive low frequencies, cold atmospheres. I had to describe with sounds the white landscape, the blinding light reflected by the frozen oceans, the abyssal silence. I have imagined myself in flight over this Sleeping Earth, a solitary winged-being surrounded by winds, air, water and ice. This led me to compose an airy drone with minimal variations and delicate tones, an homage to a pure, uncontaminated and remote land" (Oöphoi). A singular 65-minute track presented in a digipak. Re-issue of an extremely limited release from 2003. Sound collages and moods remind of Oöphoi's early works, such as "Spirals of time" and "Three lights at the end of the world". The music immerses the listener in autumn-winter landscapes, when nature has already fallen asleep, and winter is about to cover vivid autumn clothes with its white blanket. This remastered version comes with a bonus track, which supplements the conceptual picture of the album, each track being accompanied by an artcard. "The Spirals of Time" is considered the best of Oophoi's albums and has been recognised as one of the best drone-ambient projects of all time. Now this legendary album has been reissued in a deluxe 3-CD set! The material on this project was taken from two concerts, played in the studio of the Italian maestro, in the "Kiva", in April and in June, 1997. The third disk is a recording from a concert which was played in an old farmhouse in Assisi (central Italy) in 1999. This record was initially created to become the finishing disk of this trilogy. Here you will find new ideas and new development of the concept. However the "classical" sound of "The Spirals of Time" is kept. Ltd x 500 copies in an outsized package with inserts. Russian import.
