Contrastate / srmeixner CONTRASTATE - 'A Live Coal Under The Ashes' CD (Tesco Organisation)

(2008) 1992 saw the release of “A live coal under the ashes”, which was inspired by the events leading up to the changes across Eastern and Central Europe during 1989. This release marked the change conceptually in which the group’s ideas became more specific and more focused on contemporary political issues. Finally available again after many years, with remastered tracks and a new, unreleased track called: “Death follows the one eyed cow”. An album full of ambient atmospheres, drones, percussion, suitable dark narrations and some steady muted rhythms. These are intense, highly charged recordings with a powerful mystic and ritual feeling. A masterpiece of sound poetry. Comes in nice digipak.

Fabio Orsi / Valerio Cosi FABIO ORSI & VALERIO COSI - 'We Could For Hours' CD (A Silent Place)

(2008) "We Could For Hours is instability. It represents the will to open the gates of unknown. It is the dark, whispered sounds and hidden truths. Chaos. And now here it starts, everything takes form, sensations rise, objects acquire colours, distorted vision but still a vision of reality... Silence. Sounds follow themselves but always hidden in a veil of mystery, words are mute, everything is listening attentively to the enchanting melody of nature... Everything is nothing. Nothing is the time. Time becomes memory and memory brings us to happy thoughts that rise first, then fall in the end. Hallucinations. The precariousness feeling is overwhelming us, tollings of a clock without hands are molesting our ears and they scan the slow and endless flowing of life. Too late to be back. There's no possibility. We have to live desolate countrysides burnt by an August sun. Lysergic vision. Void." Krautrock, Drone, Experimental, Ambient. Digifile.

The Hafler Trio THE HAFLER TRIO - 'A Thirsty Fish' 2 x CD (Korm Plastics)

"And so it came to pass...and stayed there, finally. A splendidness of extra-re-release: sonically enhanced by an order of magnitude, with a full previously lost quarter of the thing put back where it belongs, and oh, how we laughed! Artwork restored, millions of minions having toiled for years. Yes, miracles performed *every day*! Come on in! The water is wonderful!" Originally released as a 2LP by Touch, then re-issued on one CD (thus leaving off one side of the music) by Mute, now finally re-released in its original form, as a 2CD set, in the usual Hafler Trio package, with booklet, a poster and a postcard." An impressively accomplished work of considerable complexity. Ltd x 825 copies.

The Hafler Trio THE HAFLER TRIO - 'Seven Hours Sleep' CD (Korm Plastics)

The sixth in the Hafler Trio reissue series. Allegedly based on dream research, this is non-academic electroacoustic / musique concrete at it's finest. Chris Watson and Edward Moolenbeek were still part of the group - Watson bringing a strong interest in field recordings to the studio and Moolenbeek signalling an overt dealing with perceptual issues. The album's progression from the early disorientation to the closing drones succeeds in putting the listener in another state, making this one of the Hafler Trio's more effective collections. Originally released on LP by Laylah (1985) and reissued "wrongly" on CD by Mute (1996). "Now really available as should have been." Heavy package with booklet and mini-poster.
