The debut album from Polish project Monopium is definitely something new and different. 40 minutes of psychedelic / neo-cabaret music based on a fascination with the dadaism, avant-garde atmosphere of old Berlin cabarets and surrealism. If the Dadaists were an anarchistic negation of European heritage, rejecting today's conventions and restrictions for the sake of free and unbound fantasy and a bit of trivial mystery, then what is Monopium today? Dada works with all his might to incorporate the idiocy all around. But creatively. So have Monopium. Ltd x 500 copies with cover art by Robert Schalinski (Column One).
