Beyond Sensory Experience / Moljebka Pvlse BEYOND SENSORY EXPERIENCE & MOLJEBKA PVLSE - 'Zielona Gora' CD (Ur Muzik)

The debut release on this Polish label comes from two well-known Swedish acts: Beyond Sensory Experience and Moljebka Pvlse. Both bands were invited in April 2008 to play a concert in Zielona Góra, Poland. After the concert the two bands joined together on stage and recorded the raw material for this release. This material was then taken to chilly Stockholm and reworked by the artists. The result is a monumental, 70 minutes long, dark ambient work that unifies the excellence of Beyond Sensory Experience and Moljebka Pvlse’s worlds. Ltd x 500 copies in a 6-panel digipak.

Hoarfrost / Inner Vision Laboratory HOARFROST Vs INNER VISION LABORATORY - 'Decline' CD (Zoharum)

Both Hoarfrost and Inner Vision Laboratory are young Polish projects, but it would be an understatement to call them 'new comers', with each project already having a few releases under their belt. "Decline" is a tale of descending into the pits of madness in 8 parts. Inspired by two poems, 'Madman' and 'Modern Icarus,' "Decline: takes you on a journey into the realms of dark thoughts. With such a clear concept, it's no wonder that the music is cinematic, slowly building images in the listener's head. Face the stillness, but remember: something is lingering in the corner. For fans of cinematic ambient like Moljebka Pvlse, Inade, Lambwool, Tho-So-Aa, Land etc. Released in a 6-panel digipak.

Moljebka Pvlse MOLJEBKA PVLSE - 'Koan' CD (Eibon Records)

Like in the good and old tradition of Maeror Tri or Final, this Swedish act headed by Mathias Josefson, brings us liquid dark ambient based upon manipulated guitars and e-bows. Clear but dark layered drones, swathed in heavy bass, and journeying through layers of rippling reverb. Needless to say, a very good late-night listen for those who like trips into sonic, haunted dreamworlds.

Moljebka Pulse / 7inch MOLJEBKA PVLSE - 'Lode Lvx' 7" (Drone Records)

For some years now Stockholm based artist Mathias Josefson has delighted the drone scene with his highly minimal excursions into drone territory. From harsh noise to soft and gentle ambience, the aim is to reach a basic level of sound conscience. In doing so the "human mind" and the "sound mind" interact to build a symbiotic entity. "Lode" and "Lvx" are great examples of breathing drone structures which seem to be derived from real string or wind instruments. Harmonic and mysterious, dense and aspiring... this is indeed music like a lode of illumination. First edition of 300 copies on black vinyl with silk-screened, embossed covers and an inlay.

Moljebka Pvlse MOLJEBKA PVLSE - 'Sadalachbia' CD (Isoramara)

Brand new studio work by the great Swedish "mysterious drone" project, now a trio consisting of Mathias Josefson, Lena Bergendahl and Karin Jacobson. Three long pieces, siren-like drones, melancholic piano-patterns, harmonium-drones, strangely effected field recordings all set within a very special kind of ambience. The backbone of all these pieces is the drones and the harmonium. They form a swirl of long form sounds on which on top there are sparse sounds the amplified objects and some piano. Presented in an outsize card gatefold sleeve with obi strip.

Moljebka Pvlse MOLJEBKA PVLSE - 'Sadalsuud' CD (Some Place Else)

For this album, Mathias Josefson collaborated with colleagues from the Royal University Of Arts, Stockholm, who provided him with various sound sources. "Sadalsuud" refers to a star of the same name in the constellation of Aquarius. The name comes from an Arabic phrase meaning "the luckiest of them all". Nevertheless the album is rather earthy-sounding, yet mystical and surreal, almost claustrophobic at times. The sound is quite reminiscent of some works by Nurse With Wound, Maeror Tri or The Hafler Trio, but carries the trademark Moljebka Pvlse feel. Digipak, Finnish import.

Moljebka Pulse MOLJEBKA PVLSE - 'Tamon' CD (Segerhuva)

Mathias Josefsons one-man-project Moljebka Pvlse from Stockholm, Sweden here stretches the boundaries of ambient drone-music, perhaps a surprising listen for those accustomed to his other recordings put out by Eibon and Cold Meat Industry to name a few. This work to a larger degree features a sound pallette unarguably harsher than his other recordings. Tons of frenzied, computerised, but crispy clear distortion flows out over you like an ice wall and leaves the listener in a nervous state, begging for a warming aftermath. Static walls of rampant treated guitars and billowing droney backgrounds screaming endlessly out over the cold plains of the earth. Ambient gourmets also get their piece, though somewhat in a more experimental way. The final track is the 16-minute long soundtrack to the movie "A Bird Is Not An Animal" by D & D Productions. Digipak.

Moljebka Pulse / Fin De Siecle MOLJEBKA PVLSE - 'The Leaves Of Their Songs' CD (Fin De Siècle Media)

Moljebka Pvlse is Mathias Josefson from Stockholm, Sweden. With releases on labels such as Eibon, Segerhuva and Cold Meat Industry, he has become one of the most appreciated purveyors of ambient drone music. While the previous album "Tamon" was an excursion into static and distortion, "The Leaves of Their Songs" is a return to the earlier hypnotic audio sculptures. Once again, Moljebka Pvlse combines heavily processed guitars and electronics to perfection, creating six tracks of mind-bending ambient minimalism in the vein of Troum and Thomas Köner.

Moljebka Pulse MOLJEBKA PVLSE - 'Zojo' CD (Greytone)

This album was recorded during Mathias Josefson's studies at the Royal Institute of Art. He was inspired by the longest night of the year in Stockholm, the day when there is almost no daylight. His ambition was to make an acoustic album of minimal drone music without any musical instruments.  Moljebka Pvlse set up long nylon strings across his entire studio, which he then plucked and bowed and recorded with his favorite contact microphones on that very night. These recordings became the basis of the album and set the tone for the rest of the work. Features Japanese artist Michiko Kashiba. Ltd x 500 copies in a digipak.

Skare SKARE - 'Solstice City' CD (Glacial Movements)

Skare is the collaboration of Swedish droners Mathias Josefson (Moljebka Pvlse), Per Åhlund (Diskrepant) and Fredrik Olofsson. The members of Skare are all fascinated by the circulation of water, snow and ice. The metamorphosis from gas to floating liquid to snow to solid ice through freezing, the light reflecting from the snow and filtered through the ice as a prisma and - most of all - the sound of this ever ongoing circle. "Solstice City" is an interpretation of a journey through a shifting landscape where the city meets nature. The vehicles used by Skare on this journey are field recordings, found sounds and treated and manipulated instruments. Digipak.
