One can say many things about Ain Soph, but one thing is certain; they know how to incorporate different styles of music to their best advantage. For the most part, this release comes across as a ritual for the first free tracks at least. Which on the original vinyl release found closure with 'IAO', then takes a more aggressive tone on the title track 'Kshatriya', which is more a battle cry than an actual song, a post-industrial piece that is discordant as well as melodic. Not short on the esoteric this release finds Ain Soph on the cusp of re-invention, for in the early nineties their sound took a slightly different turn that can be described as folk rock, but we will always have this little gem to remember them" (Heathen Harvest). Italian cult band featuring 2 ex-members of AIN SOPH as well as other well known musicians of the Roman underground. This CD is not only a sonic tribute to Pop-Art, or to the noise-psychedelic rock of Velvet Underground: it's a tribute to the recent and tragic departure of their friend and poet / singer, Letizia. "Laetitia" displays the two faces of Circus Joy: sensual, sick love ballads on one side and the crazy, electric, rides on the other.
