FJERNLYS - 'Ascending Triads & Luminous Arcs' 2 x CD (Loki Foundation)
(2006) Behind this project hides one of Inade's masterminds - Knut Enderlein. On this first disc, the songs layer cosmic and synthetic sounds and go on tracing according to the principle harmony in the music, their acoustic space feeling very expansive. The voices creep crosswise into sounds and effects to lunar spheres and solar places. The five remixes and interpretations of ANTLERS MULM, BAD SECTOR, FIRST LAW and LOVESPELL on the second disc support the complex character of the whole release and expand the into a new style of Ambient songs. More 'song' based than Inade, Fjernlys reminds of fellow Loki act Predominance. Presented in a double jewel case with a very nice slipcase to finish.
HERBST9 - 'From A Dark Chasm Below' CD (Loki Foundation)
(2005) The legendary and long deleted debut album from 1999, now finally available again in a carefully remastered version. Complex, textural ambience, consisting of layer upon layer of kinetic, luminous tones and ephemeral nuances of time. Nearly 70 minutes of finest ritual ambient music, mesmerizing rhythmic percussions with deep and sonorous dronings. Herbst9 construct sonic rituals gleaned from the ruins of minds scraped hollow and left to decay while natural sounds and archaic motives develop visionary sequences.
(2008) A collection of studio works from the last few years, recorded during several sessions - remixed, re-constructed and re-edited in 2005. This release originally accompanied the Inade Spring Equinox concert in Tokyo. "Samadhi State" illuminates the space of reality and the luminous arcs of dreams. Samadhi is a over-conscious experience that lies beyond waking, dreaming, and deep sleep. A perfect condition in vigil, a condition of absolute consciousness. It is the final goal of everything and the highest form of self-possession. The Samadhi State is the fourth dimension, where the infinite eternity prevails. A stunning Dark Ambient release. 2nd edition in jewelcase with glossy artwork.
First CD proper for this UK-based electronic / experimental artist, after several self-financed 7"s, EPs and appearances on several CDRs, cassette and MP3 compilations. "Luminous rebuilds his sampler to create a bizarre hybrid of uncomfortable percussion and John Carpenter like atmospheres" (Wax Magazine). Also comparable to Aphex Twin. Presented in a clamshell case.

STEVE ROACH - 'Immersion: Two' CD (Projekt)
The second in an ongoing series of atmospheric zones by master sound painter Steve Roach, Immersion: Two presents a subtle shift from the luminous steady state harmonic current of Immersion: One. On this 73-minute longform soundscape, a sinuous weblike mist seems to emanate from the speakers. Mysterious yet calm, this is the perfect sound environment for the deeper hours after midnight or anytime a quiet, engulfing audio landscape is desired. If Nag Champa or Sandalwood incense has a sound this might be it. Digipak.
"Feuerstern" ("Firestar") captures two tracks of luminous tones and magnetic resonances, which create a warm and floating aural flux. With mellow concrete material setting the counterpoint, very subtle hisses, smacking and clicking sounds can be distinguished. These are enriched further on Side B with field recordings by Michael Northam, made in 2006 at the Audioframes Sonic Art Festival in Herne. This was where "Feuerstern" was also performed in a choreographed way using fireworks! Very delicate tone colours and a perfectly balanced sound pattern allow for contemplative listening sessions. The 7" comes in a golden lettered and embossed grey cardboard box with golden printed inlay. First edition of 300 copies on dark red vinyl.
