(2008) Beehatch is a project from Phil Western (Download, Plateau) and Mark Spybey (Dead Voices On Air, ex-Zoviet France). The album was recorded in Los Angeles and England via internet file sharing. Far from being an impersonal way of making music, this technique has liberated the approach to the making of this album. The musicians were able to make music at leisure, in familiar environments. Phil and Mark have developed similarities in an approach to music making but in essence, Phil emerged smiling from the generation electronic and Mark slowly crept out of the distant days of four tracks and homemade instruments. Both are seasoned improvisers who started life as drummers and tend to ignore as many of the so-called ‘rules of music making’ as possible. Nothing is clear. Everything is possible. Accidents are encouraged. Presented in a 6-panel digipak.

ENCOMIAST - 'Encomiast' CD (Lens Records)
(2007) Encomiast have been harvesting an audience of enthusiastic music fans for almost a decade now. With six full-length releases, 2 EP’s and half a dozen compilation appearances, Encomiast are one of the most highly regarded and prolific artists in the dark ambient / drone genre. For this eponymous CD, Encomiast mined their extensive early recordings and un-released material to compile, edit and re-master six tracks that give a glimpse into where it all started. Encomiast’s "Winter's End" CD (2001) has been described as ‘a delirious blend of dark dreamy blackened drones and shimmering cinematic ambience’ - the tracks on "Encomiast" revisit much of the same sonic territory. ROBERT SCOTT THOMPSON - 'Poesis Athesis (Music From The Flying Phoenix Films Of Terence Dunn)' CD (Lens Records)
Having originally worked together in the mid-80’s, Chi Kung master Terrence Dunn once again contacted Robert Scott Thompson to compose music for his current series of video releases. Thompson composed the music to work specifically with the pace, mood and dynamics of the Flying Phoenix form of Chi Kung. The collaboration eventually spanned ten films and Thompson composed more than ten hours worth of music over a two year period. The thirteen tracks on "Poesis Athesis" are rooted in Thompson’s ambient style but also blend with elements of electronica, ethnic influences and a personal homage to French composer Erik Satie. Thompson creates an atmosphere of calm and relaxation suitable for both introspective and meditative moments as well as chill out regeneration. Digipak.
