First album by this Zonk't side project, resolutely ambient and more experimental. “Black Grains” takes the listener on a one-hour long journey through subtle frequencies, very grainy (of course) clicks and blips, a little noise, and very deep drones (reminding of The [law-rah] Collective). Atmospheric in the truest sense of the word, this debut is a success, being a well produced and intelligently executed album which sets Pylône aside as an interesting project.
