One can say many things about Ain Soph, but one thing is certain; they know how to incorporate different styles of music to their best advantage. For the most part, this release comes across as a ritual for the first free tracks at least. Which on the original vinyl release found closure with 'IAO', then takes a more aggressive tone on the title track 'Kshatriya', which is more a battle cry than an actual song, a post-industrial piece that is discordant as well as melodic. Not short on the esoteric this release finds Ain Soph on the cusp of re-invention, for in the early nineties their sound took a slightly different turn that can be described as folk rock, but we will always have this little gem to remember them" (Heathen Harvest). The project Kshatriy appeared on the Russian post-industrial scene in 2004 and Muzyka Voln now presents the project's first "professional" CD with the album "Slepok Sonzaniya" ("a mould of consciousness"). This work is based on the concept of consciousness of a warrior, a galactic warrior of light, bringing to world pure knowledge, infinite silence, perfect balance, a moment of power and might, a flight of freedom, love, serenity, joy, light, unified time, eternal life, simplicity and bliss. The music of the project can be described as fractal dark drone ambient with lots of patterns, woven from various sonic fibres: synthesized drones, processed field recordings, acoustic echoes and rhythmic loops. The album is dedicated to the end of Kali-Yuga - the age of technocratic lack of spirituality and moral decay - and to the attainment of human awareness of the Unity. Eight hasteless compositions of psychedelic drone ambient combine a light atmosphere with deep layers, crystal clear sound transparency with mild and sometimes uneasy melodies. MAEROR TRI - 'The A.V.E. - Tapes / Live In Nevers' CD (Zhelezobeton)
Maeror Tri existed from 1988-1996 (members now recording as Troum and 1000schoen). Over those nine years they made a serious contribution to the development of the European post-industrial scene, focusing on the transcendental quality of sound, its ability to expand consciousness and to awaken timeless and non-personal spiritual experiences. They recorded their industrial drone ambient music with the use of guitars, percussion, tape loops, various objects and effects, turning everything in a coherent flux of unconscious drones. This CD contains the last unreleased recordings by Maeror Tri. Four tracks are fragments of the band's 12-hour concert at the Audio-Visual-Experimental festival in Arnhem, Netherlands in November 1995; the fifth track is a part of their performance at the Musique Ultimes festival in Nevers, France in May 1995.
