KEVIN DRUMM & DANIEL MENCHE - 'Gauntlet' MCD (Editions Mego)
(2007) Collaboration between the hugely prolific Oregon artist Daniel Menche and Chicago-based avant-garde artist Kevin Drumm. "One organ, one guitar, several fuzz boxes and two highly regarded purveyors of American extreme sonics are the savoury ingredients that created 'Gauntlet'. Building on Menche’s aural low end physicality and Drumm’s exacting attention to high frequency detail - the aptly titled 'Gauntlet' is a sizzling, scorching slab of essential audio." Just under 30 minutes of music.

KEVIN DRUMM - 'Sheer Hellish Miasma' CD (Editions Mego)
(2007) Originally released by Mego in 2002, this revamped edition contains an extra bonus track from the same period. Utilising guitar, tapes, mics, pedals, analogue synth and some computer assistance, Drumm has concocted a sonic beast. One is taken on an intense journey of storming feedback, open audio onslaught and somewhat savaged sonics. The extreme end of anarchic electronics and possibly a hint of musical violence is present throughout the much of the disc. An essential release capturing Drumm at his most ferocious and most inventive. For seasoned noise veterans, "Sheer Hellish Miasma" offers a bracing soundscape filled with exquisitely abrasive textures and more than enough hidden detail to warrant repeated listening. PRURIENT & KEVIN DRUMM - 'All Are Guests In The House Of The Lord' CD (Hospital Productions)
"All Are Guests In the House of the Lord" is the first collaboration between Prurient and Kevin Drumm. Both artists are regarded as singular stylistic entities in their own right. Kevin Drumm is known for his improvised work, as well as being a mainstay in the Chicago noise world. Prurient has been toiling in the fields of noise for over a decade and has developed an increasingly dynamic output incorporating darkly arranged synths. Their cumlative work displayed here is both unexpected and focused. Using source sounds of intense tonal drones supplied by Drumm, the two create a haunted atmosphere that is far removed from noise, exploring minimal junctures, using field recording and clean patient vocals to lead the way. "All Are Guests In the House of the Lord" is among the darkest record in either artist's catalogue. The subtle textures of the electronics combined with near cinematic arrangements make for a record that is engaging and consistent in mood of tension. Ltd x 1000.
