JARL - 'Turbulence Colour' 2 x CD (Autarkeia)
"Turbulence Colour" is the tenth album of talented Swedish composer Erik Jarl (IRM), containing two and a half hours of new, never released sound material over two CDs. In terms of music, Erik Jarl remains loyal to his original but dismal style. Very long, hypnotic tracks convey unbearable, depressing and morbid states of human psyche. "Turbulence Colour" is at the same time a journey into the grey matrix of anxiety where the listeners are masterfully taken through the sickly labyrinths of the author’s mind. The latest Erik Jarl’s release is the top class drone psycho-collage. Presented in a stunning debossed 6-panel digipak inserted into an embossed slipcase. Extremely high quality product! Ltd x 500. Lithuanian import.
K11 is Pietro Riparbelli. The sound sources for this album were recorded at the enchanting park of Monsters of Bomarzo. The park of Monsters of Bomarzo was devised by the architect Pirro Ligorio (he completed the Cathedral of Saint Peter in Rome after the death of Michelangelo and built Villa d'Este in Tivoli) on commission of Prince Pier Francesco Orsini, called Vicino, only to vent the heart broken at the death of is wife Giulia Farnese. The park was created in 1552 as "Villa of Wonders" to be the only one of it's kind in the world. Incredible but true, the Park of Monsters remained in complete oblivion till 1954 and only few people was aware about all the fantastic treasures contained within the park for over 400 years ! K11 recorded the soul of this park of Monsters and Wonders and after re-working the sounds he delivers us a trip between reality and dream. Psychedelic, ritual ambient music from an other space, from an other era, from an other land.
K2 - 'In The Monotonous Flowers' CD (Ground Fault Recordings)
"In the Monotonous Flowers" documents the work of Japanese sound artist K2 (aka Kimihide Kusafuka). With the exception of 1993's wonderfully titled "An Able Spy Never Eats Any Vegetables," all the tracks date from 1999, and consist of samples of TV, fuzzed-out guitar rock, cheesy jazz piano, and cavernous electro-dub thrown into the blender along with horrid cheap organs, queasy choirs, and snatches of lo-fi keyboards, coarsely chopped rather than mashed to a purée and hurled out at the listener as ten slabs of take-it-or-leave-it cut-ups. Kusafuka's pieces tend to fall apart to reveal their constituent elements, so spectacularly in fact that it's impossible to locate the artist in the midst of the seemingly formless sonic sprawl. An album full of surprises. Series II ('medium') in the Ground Fault series.

MAAAA & K2 - 'Split' CD (Triangle)
New compositions by a Warsaw duo and a Japanese surgeon are presented on this 50-minute album. MAAAA buzzes using the Korg MS-20 and Polivoks synthesizers, and they clink damaging iron pieces and coil springs. Dr. Kusafuka (K2) handles his stylus like a scalpel. Having decided not to employ metal garbage, he turns to extensive use of his analogue synth, creating loud and sharp pieces of work reminiscent of a surgical knife cutting flesh. All in all, be prepared for the heavy analogue modulations, drilling feedback, rich bass, pulsations, biting high frequencies and the hazardous loudness of the record. Extreme Harsh Noise!
