DOVE YELLOW SWANS - 'Live During War Crimes #3' CD (Release The Bats)
The final installment in the "Live During War Crimes" trilogy, this one being one of the last releases ever from Yellow Swans. Four unedited live sets from the band's last year in existence. Included are the PDX Pop Now set (recorded by John Wiese, July 2007), a live soundtrack to a film by Avalon Kalin (February 2008), a set from the Picador, Iowa City (October 2007), and the final US show in Chicago (June 2008). Big sounding stuff, very loud and very dense, with the melodic guitarwork being more prominent just as on the last couple of releases. 78 minutes of epic, sky-shredding beauty in a gatefold sleeve. Ltd x 500.

GERRITT & JOHN WIESE - 'The Disappearing Act EP' MCD (Misanthropic Agenda)
It's Wiese - brace yourself. This 20 minute EP sees the noise maverick working with Misanthropic Agenda label boss Gerritt, hardly a shrinking violet himself, having gone head to head with Merzbow, D Yellow Swans and Sunn O))) in the past. 'The Disappearing Act EP' starts out with two short, sharp shocks of mashed-up sound, sudden jolts of electricity and the worrying rush of what sounds like toxic gas escaping from a canister. The final track is one 15 minute fade up of unbearably caustic jet engine whine. It'll have you pinned back in your armchair while your face gets pummelled by its horribly intense power. Digipak.
JOHN WIESE - 'Black Magic Pond' CD (Blossoming Noise)
Compounded recycling report from the East Coast and debut solo outing on Blossoming Noise, following LHD's release "Young & Restless". In Wiese's output, "Black Magic Pond" sits somewhere between the density of "Arrhythmia Wave Burst" and "Panner Crash" but working within the same conceptual framework of his recycling trilogy "Magical Crystal Blah". Housed in a digipak.

KK NULL / JOHN WIESE - 'Mondo Paradoxa' CD (Auf Abwegen)
Constructed over the period of two years via mail collaboration this is a great and forceful collaboration between two artists that each have made a name for themselves with their unique approach to making sound. KK NULL is a master of feedback studies, working with looped scenarios to create dense and vital sound units. He is also the leading force behind proto-metal-group Zeni Geva and the dark-industrial project Absolut Null Punkt. John Wiese creates fragile but very erruptive lo-fi noise rumblings with an almost poetic touch. He has a musical past in the group Bastard Noise. Needless to say, both artists combine the best of both worlds in this crunching release! Comes in beautiful full cover digipak, designed by Government Alpha, with typesetting by John Wiese.

SAILOR WINTERS - 'Red At Morn' CD (Stickfigure / Black Noise Recordings)
Sailor Winters is Ryan Cox who previously served time as one of the vocalists for Georgia power-violence powerhouse Divorce. After numerous self-releases and compilation appearances as Sailor Winters, "Red At Morn" finds Cox utilising power electronics and drone to create a very thick and heavy, but tranquil sound. Sailor Winters will appeal to fans of John Wiese, Daniel Menche and others.
SICKNESS / JOHN WIESE - 'Amnesia' 7" (Freak Animal)
John Wiese's 99th (!!!) 7" vinyl is a collaborative release with Sickness (his debut 7"). 4 tracks of high energy, extremely vivid and frantic harsh noise in the best possible tradition of these two masterminds. The compositions are razor sharp and to the point. They really compressed an album's worth of substance into this small piece of vinyl, offering more in 10 minutes than many artists during their entire career. Essential for anyone into dynamic harsh noise!

WOLF EYES With JOHN WIESE - 'Collection' CD (Hanson Records)
A collection of the Wolf Eyes with John Wiese 7" plus two EPs originally released in very limited editions on American Tapes in 2003-04. Digitally re-mastered by Wiese and finally available all together! "Combined into one ugly genetic mishap and flesh hacked covered package by Aaron Dilloway's Hanson label, this is a disintegrated release full of blossoming black sounds... The sheer breadth of textures and styles that they have used is nothing short of astounding... Scattered between exploring inner worlds and blowing-out corneas through riotous frequency changes, this is the place where digits are bent from their 0 and 1 roots into self-adapting cyborg sinews. Elements like stuck groove bell work, tape machine cloud cover and delicate looped horns seem like perfectly constructed movements, musical conclusions of thirty minutes of sweaty improv work".
