"Collaborating Torture" is one of the last known recordings made by Matt Gibney (Hollowing), who died in January 2006. Gibney, a member of SOIHADTOSHOOTHIM and label boss of the Rectrix label, was joined here by the prolific Maor Appelbaum (Grave in the Sky, Poochaltz, Vectorscope) to create a brooding and massive 54-minute track of dark, pitch-black ambient, hypnagogic swirls and industrialised drones. Sometimes subtle, yet mostly haunted and delirious, this is highly recommended if you like Wilt, Aidan Baker, Z'EV, Daniel Menche and John Duncan. Israeli import.

JOHN DUNCAN - 'Da Sich Die Machtgier...' CD (Die Stadt)
Asmus Tietchens sent processed recordings of himself reading excerpts from two texts by E. M. Cioran. Duncan worked on and manipulated them, creating three pieces. There is little of Tietchens remaining in these abstract creations. Speed-altered voice tracks are stacked, swirling electronic sounds in the background providing proof of deeper processing. "Freih zein hoem macht..." ranks among Duncan's harshest pieces to date, while "Aber..." is more "typical" Duncan: a drone derived from the sound source but from which the sound source has been obliterated, and yet makes its ghostly presence palpable. Presented in a nice digipak with tasteful spot varnish and insert. Ltd x 1000.

JOHN DUNCAN / C. M. VON HAUSSWOLFF / LEIF ELGGREN - 'Untitled' 7" (Die Stadt)
Released in conjunction with a performance which took place at the Lagerhaus Bremen on 26 September 2003. Exclusive tracks by all three artists. John Duncan's contribution is another fine example of his work with Shortwave sounds and a sort of more aggressive version of his acclaimed 'Phantom Broadcast' CD. C.M. von Hausswolff delivers a spoken word piece for the first time. Leif Elggren's piece is a short but powerful example of his vibrating music. Regular edition of 400 copies in a full-colour foldout sleeve.
