A two part experimental acoustic guitar offering, funneled through a train load of pedals and effect and then ejected from a Marshall 1 D2 stack from Michael Gibbons of Bardo Pond (and all things Philadelphia and psychedelic). Recorded at the Big Jar book store in Philadelphia. This edition comes housed in an outsized sleeve with two colour silk screen work by Alan Sherry of SIWA on a heavyweight card. The front cover is die cut with and inserted picture from the performance printed on vellum, all hand glued and assembled. Graphic work by Demian Johnston. Mastered by James Plotkin (Khanate, Old). Two incredible collaborative pieces by France's prolific Philippe Petit and Scottish goup Cindytalk built around piano, electronics, voice and that kinda trans-dimensional murmur and crackle we already love both of them for. Some background info: Cindytalk has existed since the early 1980s and, helmed by founder Gordon Sharp, survivor of the original Scottish punk scene, ex-member of The Freeze and open transgender warrior, has swung from being a band to a solo concern and back again. Philippe Petit, meanwhile, commenced his music career through the running of the highly respected Pandemonium Rdz. and BiP_HOp. A musical travel agent creating adventurous soundworlds, who in recent years has been found on a number of labels in collaboration with a number of eclectic artists including James Johnston, Lydia Lunch, K11 and Cosey Fanni Tutti. Our two fiends wanted to conjure up blood-curdling and haunting soundscapes, playing with unsettling ambiances in order to create a contemporary soundtrack for those who like to be frightened. Philippe Petit is interested in soundtracks, even if he creates original music he'd rather be introduced as a "musical travel agent" than a composer. James Johnston is the singer, multi-instrumentalist, and founding member of influential UK band Gallon Drunk. He also plays with Krautrock legends Faust and was a member of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds from 2003-2008, (originally touring with the band in 1994).
